Chuck, I was looking at the Virginia Open (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=4707&year=2005&include_ratings=1#Open) ratings today and I noticed that the am and pro scores have the exact same ratings when we played different courses at the grange. Seeing as how the ams were playing an eaiser course(sunny side) when the pros were playing the harder dark side, the 1101 round Skinner shot could go up. You guys may want to check on this, I could be totally wrong.

Contact the TD. We can't possibly know whether course layouts haven't been submitted correctly on the TD reports but we can fix it if the TD sends us correction info.

The course assignments have been confirmed to be correct. However, Roger is looking into why the average of all of the round ratings for those on a course were lower than the average of those players' ratings. If anything, every player will get more points when he figures out what happened since it seems isolated to this event. I would guess somewhere between 10-30 pts per round but that's a rough estimate.

I guarantee you that par was 61 the first round and 58 the second. I hope that the ratings go up at least 60 points, 30 is not enough.

Roger also saw that there were 19 holes instead of 18 so that will be corrected, too.

I haven't seen the course Lissaman shot at worlds....but a 41 at this course IS the greatest tournament round played of all time.

I've said this many times, but I think Larry Leonard shooting a 34 at a course in a practice round is the greatest round of all time....I don't think anyone can ever come close to shooting a 34 anywhere (other than a par 2 course) ever again.

Probably. The SSA on Rum Village was so low for tournament rating calculations it's quite possible an 1100 round was impossible unless it was maybe -19 or lower.

Yeah I'm pretty sure. When you break the course record by 5 stokes when numerous 1000+ rated players play it every year including:

Ask any of these guys if they thought a 41 was even possible on this course. The answer you will get is 'No. Maybe in doubles'.

When you played it earlier this year, the course is way different than it was in 96. It was much shorter. Matter of fact, I heard that hole that he missed is actually the short pin placement for what is now hole 13, the first one across the road. Its a 330' hole. Hole 14 which is the second hole across the road didnt exist and hole 9, the 600' down hill didnt exist either. But I agree with you man, -8 is a disappointing round out there, anymore.

Skinners round at the Grange is much more impressive than the Lissamen's 37.

There were also 39's and plenty of 40's at Rum Villiage

best round ever on darkside at grange (other than skinner's 41) was 46. this is on a course that has hosted several supertours as well as numerous b tiers, etc. i told brian after the round it was going to rate out as the best ever.

So does that mean that my 1002 rated round could potentially increase to a 1012-1032 rated round? That would make me laugh!

It's still showing up as 1101 - is that final?

Morley was corrected but that wasn't the event with the 1101. That's the Virginia Open in May 2005.
