I have filed two complaints with the PDGA. Neither of them have been addressed. Here's the basic story from each without naming names or tournaments....I'm sure if you have a good message board memory, you can figure out what and who they were.

1. I had an altercation with a fellow golfer where I asked him to move several times from my view and after a verbal altercation, he mooned me. I told the TD about this and he put it in his problems section of the TD report and I also sent an email to the PDGA office. Me and this player are cool now, as he apologized to me via PM, but I still think the PDGA disciplinary commitee should have looked at this.

2. A tournament I attended had a payout that was very insulting and also changed the amount of players paid after the tournament b/c of ties. I simply emailed the tour manager letting him know of this and asked for him to investigate the financial section of the TD report.

The first happened about 7 months ago, the second was fairly recent. In both of these situations, I was not emailed back with any kind of response. In either case a simple "We are not concerned with this issue" would have been better than completely ignoring me. I also spoke with the TD from the first incident who also filed a complaint and he has not heard anything back.

So my question is does the PDGA care about the complaints of players? And does not doing anything in these two scenarios promote more unprofessional conduct by players and unfair treatment of players by TD's?

Please post quickly before this thread is deleted.

Well, I Really don;t want to get into it....but basically it was a complaint about the TD b/c he changed the number of people being paid after posting the payout....but it was more of a matter to investigate the financial section of the TD report to see why it was necesary to pay a player 5 dollars in a tournament with an entry fee of 30 dollars.....

That is like leaving the waitress a $1 tip after an hour long $50 meal. Ouch!

The Discipline comittee chair contacted me to let me know that they did not recieve the complaint - so at least something is being done!

Who is the person in the PDGA that you contact to "Tattle" on someone anyway? Can you submit formal complaints in crayon?

Also: A moon is silent. If I hear someone who is loud across a course, and it negatively effects my game, should they be disqualified? What if I am done with a tourney, but watch two pro cards finish up, and someone who is complaining about how a tournament is run is hooting and hollaring in the view of another pro trying to finish out his round on another hole, who then proceeds to miss the putt after stepping back to wait for said clown three different times, then misses the win by a stroke. Should the clown be disciplined by the PDGA tournament committee? True story from this past weekend.

BTW, I am not the mooner! :D

Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

In either situation, depending on what you sent them, they might not have interpretted it as a formal request. They ignore a lot of e-mail. They usually pick up the phone when it rings.

If you want a result, a good way to proceed with them is to first call them on the phone and talk about it. Then if there is a formal complaint process that they won't ignore, you can find out how to get that going.

If you just want to btch, this website is good for that.

Same here...It affected roughly 40 player's ratings for the worse. In some cases their ratings dropped 30 points. Supposedly they are working on it...

Both of your complaints are handled by volenteers, not the staff of the PDGA.

I would follow the advice that was given about calling the PDGA office and finding out EXACTLY who to contact with the formal complant.

I also can tell you that it takes weeks to months to interview people involved. When playars caught a player cheating a few years ago in Texas, it took like 2 months before he was suspended for a year.

It can take even longer than that, be persistent and patient, the volunteers involved will eventually get to it.

Right, Brian and Dave just got their latest shipment of Beluga yesterday and all the TDs bought their spouses a diamond tongue pierce with all the $ we're raking in...

Mikey, put down the Lysol cans and back away slowly...

The sad thing is that I didn't even come close to a distraction of that caliber. All I did was point out a disc stuck in a tree!

I've always had good turnaround on responses from the PDGA, and TD usually within 1 week. Maybe you should submit another inquiry.
