Can someone tell me why we didn't pursue Disc Golfing at the World Games this year???

Is this another case of chasing the "Golden Sponsor" so hard that again we are loosing sight of the real exposure that happens when we are on the world stage???

Rise and shine Mace! Sorry, Whataburger's breakfast stops at 11:00am. :D

So if DG is never in the World Games again does that mean our Hero_Disc Fastbacks with Julianna and Barry's Golden signatures will be worth more?

Disc Golf is planned for the World Games in Taiwan in 2009.

The sports for each World Games is determined years in advance. When they were held in Akita, JP in 2001, it was already known that Germany would not have Disc Golf. It's a decision, as I understand it, of the local organizers, in cooperation with the World governing body (in this case, WFDF, not the PDGA) based on available facilities and the base of support for the sport in the local area. The Taiwanese DG community has been pushing to have Disc Golf included when the Games are held there in 2009.

There is also a limit to the number of participants in the World Games and all those sports you see on the World Games website (http://www.worldgames2005.de/en/) are drawing on that pool.

Another reason to support the PDGA's efforts on the international scene to unite the disc golf world. Remember that though some of the sports in the World Games might seem strange and trivial to us, the participants are just as passionate about their sport as we are about ours.

Disc golf was a game chosen by Japan as the host country for the Akita World Games. Disc golf is in the 2009 World Games in Taiwan by Taiwan's choice. Germany does not have many courses. Our course directory only shows 68 baskets in the entire country. It is no wonder they did not choose to include disc golf. They also did not choose to include surfing.
