It will be interesting to see who steps to the plate in the Steak Division and who bags down to the hamburger division.
Last year there were 14 in the hamburger and 8 in the steak division.
Will McCoy be shut out again?
Will Patterson go 50+ holes with out a skin again?
Will Furdog even get out of bed that day?

I will be there to run the "Fabulous Fur-do-go Hotdog Division". One dollar per hole, 18 dollars total entry. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif....I will also pay 1/2 of the Hotdog entry fee for a maximum of 4 women should they decide to come out and partake. I'll need at least three women on the card so Melissa and Jessica.....you'll need at least one more if you want to come out and take my money. ;)...If you can't find anyone then we could always put Thong or Neagele on your card. Those guys are easy money. :D

Working so long for a "Non-Profit" organization has left you greedy in your old age. :(....Must be an insurance thing.....You can't have fun and feel good without paying the higher premium. You're probably right though. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif....Why have a lower entry fee event when it will just give somebody another place to "bagger" down to. :p
twoputtok
Nov 15 2005, 01:46 PM
I don't mind a lower cost event. The Wiener Division.
But this will possibly dilute the divisions and weaken the payout for all involed.
Just remeber Vegas, "you can't win if you're not in."
So, based on Furdog's suggestion, is anyone interest in a Wiener Division, with a $20 entry. We could make holes 9 & 18 worht double to even it out.
and should it be called the:
Weiner division
hotdog division
chicken hawk division
I'm broke division
Furrydog division
Hairydog division
Sheep division?
sschumacher
Nov 15 2005, 01:53 PM

twoputtok
Nov 15 2005, 02:01 PM
Well, lets here your sales pitch.
The problem is, "how much is too much entry?"
even if I had an $18 division, I would still have people asking to play for a .25 per hole or a .10 per hole, which is fine, I just don't want to mess with it. If you would like to do it, I will provide you with the score cards and anything else you need and you can do it at the same time as when the men play. :D

Should the division you play in be based on your ability or based on how much money you want to spend? I was considering playing in the $36 hamburger division just simply because of money.
Please understand where I am coming from, if it would be considered bagging to play in the Hamburger Division for a guy that plays in the Open division then I would not do such a thing. I know that morning I usually drop around $600 to $1000 Christmas shopping so spending $36 to play some disc golf will feel better than $90.
I know I know "...but you could win more." Ever since I turned pro, I look at disc golf money just like gambling money I never plan on getting any of it back and I play for entertainment purposes. If I win some back than cool but I consider it sunk.
m_conners
Nov 15 2005, 06:09 PM
Last year I played in the Hamburger division...Big Dave ended up with the most skins, I highly doubt anybody is going to complain if you play Hamburger.
Last year the steak division had an assortment of golfers; pro, advanced, adv master, grandmaster, I think there might have been a Novice player in there also.
If there really is going to be a hotdog division I might drop down and play that.
twoputtok
Nov 15 2005, 06:29 PM
The divisions are divided by the amount of money you would like to wager, not by your ability.
No one will complain of bagging, if they do then they can go play with their firends, or better yet go play with themselves.
The two divisions last year had a wide range of players in each division and the out come clearly shows that ability is in no way the only factor. For instance, I won money in the steak division against, Boobs, McCoy, Patterson, Sammy....ect.
And Justin Bougher, I think won 15 skins in the cheaper division. Its all good Jose`.
FurDog may be running a weiner division, I just don't know who's providing the buns. :o

The Bratwurst Division is Still On!!!
After much negotiation and begging,...Twoputt has allowed me to run the Bratwurst Skins match at the same time as his event. To round things off, entry will be twenty bucks. One dollar a hole with 2 holes worth 2 dollars, or we could just throw that extra 2 bucks in on a CTP. There will be free beer for those old enough to drink it and who can contact me before hand and let me know if they are definitely playing in this division. If I end up being the only one playing in this division,.....then the CTP for me will be a 52 Inch High Definition Plasma TV!!!!!! ......Unfortunately if anyone else shows up to play in the Bratwurst Division, the cash value of the CTP will go down dramatically. ;)

Well that should be everbody that played. The best shots of the day were Billy Lund just missing an ace on hole 5 and only had a 15ft birdie putt and made it. On hole 15, in the long position, Billy Lund and Chris Hutchinson both hit the basket on their drives. And the strangest moment was watching Billy take 9 skins, worth $495 on hole 16. Thats right hole 16 with a birdie. Now who would have thought that with the competition in that group. :o

The craziest shot of the day that I saw was on hole 12. "Q" -Marq Lewis, threw his shot that proseeded to turn over hard and go way right. Then he yells "ROLL". I had already given up on it and quit watching, I look up and see this thing rolling up the hill on the right straight for the basket. He was the only one to birdie for 1 skin. The shot was never intended to be a roller.
I threw a roller on hole 5. I usually land it just right of the tree. Well, bad shot landed on top of the cement square and then just stood up and took off like a bullet. It stopped rolling just under the tree next to the basket. I missed the putt.

Furdog made a fabulous putt on Blackhawk 18 last year to win a skin or two.
If memory serves me, Andrew and I won 12 skins between us..
I am making my re-entry to the sport this weekend after a LONG absence due to my injury.
As I have planned, I will go back to hole 8 at Mack Taylor and finish my round from August 5th!!!
That will be exactly 90 days since I last played

Yeah I got burned in the skins match last year. I had pushed more holes than anybody else and then we go to hole 1 and I get spit on a birdie putt from 20 feet. Bunch a crap. This year I'm going to let some other fool push the wussy holes while I get the big ones.

i wan a skn or two last year
and i also saw furdog nail the long putt on 18 to win
classic disc golf memory for me
i swear it was the putt of his life and he got $$$$ like four bucks or something like that
what i remember is i missed a twelve foot putt for six skins on the notorious question mark hole, one of the very few times i've had the try at a three.this year i dont plan on missing.

Man, it was great. I played again today, exactly 90 days since I broke my ankle.
As promised, I went back to hole 8 at Mack. The scene of the ugly injury.
This time was much more succesful.
I was really surprised how well it went. On hole 9, my second hole, I threw almost to the creek, which is pretty good for me.
Anyway, it's great to be back. I really appreciate everyones concern and well wishes.
See you at the course. It's great to be able to say that again..

We had 28 players out for a chilly afternoon, playing for a total of $1,300! Not bad for a Friday.
I want to thank all of those that came out and encourage more to come out next year. If you have never played before, skins is a diffent game and requires a different mental game as well. With Skins ANYTHING can happen and usually does. :D
The proof of that is that over 60% of the field got something back. ;)

The last skins match of the year will be held at McClure park at 1:00pm and NOT Black Hawk. It has been moved due to the damge of the ice storm at Mohawk.
Since it is being moved to McClure, I want to try and avoid the possibility of numerous holes being carried over on ties and one or two players winning skins.
So in light of this we will be playing SEVERE OB RULES at McClure. We tried this out the other day and I shot a 77. :o:(
I will try to have maps outlining all of the OB for each hole. The biggest factor is that if any drive does not come to rest in a safe area, it will require a re-tee. No drive will be marked where it went out of bounds, it is an automatic re-tee. I hope this will make for some unexpected out comes on some of the holes.
Hole 1 - All drives must come to rest in the area between the sidewalk and the creek.
Hole 2 - All drives must come to rest in the area between the sidewalk and the creek.
Hole 3 - OB any where left of or across the side walk.
Hole 4 - There will be a 30ft radius around the basket that will be safe. All other areas will be out of bounds.
Hole 5 - All drives must come to rest between the side walk and baseball field.
Hole 6 - Island hole, all drives must come to rest on the island. Any drives that are not at rest in a safe area will require a re-tee.
Hole 7 - Drive must come to rest across the sidewalk to be considered safe. Any drive short of the side walk will require a re-tee.
Hole 8 - All drives must be across the creek and left of the sidewalk to be considered safe. All others will require a re-tee.
Hole 9 - Will be played with normal OB.
Hole 10 - The only OB here will be past the sidewalk.
Hole 11 - All drives must come to rest between the sidewalk to the left and the creek to the right.
Hole 12 - Island hole. A 30ft radius will be marked on the hole and all drives must come to rest inside of the circle to be considered safe. All others will require a re-tee.
Hole 13 - OB will be the sidewalk and beyond to the left and the right of the basket.
Hole 14 - OB will be anything in the road or beyond and anything right or short of the sidewalk. Your dirve must be across the path that runs the length of the hole.
Hole 15 - Island Hole. A 30ft radius will be marked for this hole. All drives must come to rest inside the circle or be considered OB and require a re-tee.
Hole 16 - OB will be any drive short of the road that crosses infront of the tee area and in or across any perimeter road.
Hole 17 - OB will be any drive short of the road that crosses infront of the tee area and in or across any perimeter road. Also arcross the fenced pool area is out of bounds.
Hole 18 - OB will be any drive short of the road that crosses infront of the tee area and in or across any perimeter road. There will also be an out of bounds area just short and right of the basket. It is the area completely surrounded by sidewalk. Also the gravel area below the basket near the tennis courts is also out of bounds.
THE TWO METER RULE IS IN EFFECT!
I know this all may sound severe but that is what I am looking for. I want to see everyone have an opportunity to win some skins. The changes will have an effect on even the best of players.
So come on out New Years Eve at 1:00pm. play a round of golf and still have time to celebrate the New Year that evening.
Entries will be $20, $40 and $60. The $60 may go up if decided by the group.

Ok....I'll be first to gripe. :D

This thirty foot perimeter is BS. It could take all stinkin day. :p....The OB for # 13 is unclear and on # 8 you handycap people who may not want to go swimming for their discs. I understand you need to make it interesting but it's also supposed to be fun.

Whats confusing about 13?
There is a sidewalk to the left and right of the basket. If you're on the side walk or beyond you are OB.
Hole 8 - I wasn't sure what to do, so just win your skins on 7 and let them have hole 8. Or just sit it out and hope the others in your group make it a carry over.
The 30ft is a radius not a diameter. That gives you a 60ft circle. I will change it on what I have listed on hole 15 to a 30ft radius and not a diameter. All three of the island holes are well within your short arm distance and are the same holes you offer to play for CTP, so whats the problem? :o
It won't take all day and it could speed things up. If two people are in the cirlce safe and yo didn't make it, then just pick up and move on. This is skins NOT score.
And it will be fun, especially watching some of the good players not hitting the safe zones. :D

Looks like most of the precipitation will stay south today.
So we will probably get very little if any.
Maybe not for tommorrow night.
That one bears watching.
Maybe some accumulating snow from Tulsa to the North.

It's still BS. :p
I have a hard time getting across the sidewalk on # 12, let alone getting within 30 ft of the basket. :(....Same goes for # 14. :p
Instead of creating all these stinkin "island" holes why don't you make some of them alternate arm shots. In other words if you're a lefty then you have to throw and putt with your right hand. :o
It's evident that you only lost power for like 2 or 3 hours during the storm because obviously your imagination has never needed to be put to use. ;)
Anyone have Coberly's number? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
If not that then maybe you can pay me $30 or $40 to sit in the parking lot and keep your car's stereo safe from the stinkin theives.

WHAT? The side walk on 12 is 5 ft infront of the tee pad. And on 14 I have seen you put it within 3ft of the basket.
As for alternating arms, I can turbo right handed and throw a right handed side arm. Wagle can throw all of his shots with either arm as can some others. So that will only put you at a bigger disadvantage.

There's only three guys that IMO could have ran it but two of those guys said no.
It's in good hands now as long as the TD doesn't go over the top with all the OB like you. :p....
Since you got all this time off maybe you should get out to Blackhawk and start clearing a path for your lefty line. Maybe you can earn yourself a "Golden Chainsaw". :o
Then again, if you wait for the spring rain the course will flood and float all that wood into nice neat piles. ;)

What is the plan for cleanup at Blackhawk? Do we need permission from anyone to start the cleanup? Will the club be renting any chippers, or are we going to have to haul all of the debris out to another location, if we have to haul it out do we have a location to haul it to?

http://www.theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/Samples/030.2/s7s.JPG http://www.recipetips.com/images/glossary/s/sausage_vienna1.jpg
you must draw a line somewhere or the 9 cent Vienna Sausage Division will ruin competitive DG as we know it, besides it's really tough trying to cut pennies in half ;)
if it comes to a directer vote im all in on a bobcat with claws like they use at the indoor dump, or a track hoe to save backs. i also like the idea of a chipper shredder.

Its up to the club to decide how the clean up will be funded.
Going in there and just picking up sticks and debris is a waste of time without the right equipment. Besides, have you not checked the club schedule? There are minis on Saturday at Pawhuska and Sunday at Riverside.
Since I know you will not be at Pawhuska, get on out to Mohawk, go to hole 1 and get Started. Your truck already has a big dent in it, so its no bid deal if we use your truck to haul wood out of there, right?

This is why nobody answers your questions at the admin meetings. You used to be a club member but now you're just a "member". The club didn't finance the other clean up so why should it finance this? The club doesn't make that much money off of Mohawk mini's anyway. Why are you always looking for a "hand-out".....
I have checked the schedule and it says 1pm Skins at MOHAWK. Imagine that. :o...I wonder who the TD is that couldn't get the around to call someone to update the website that the location has changed?....Could it be the same guy who was passed out at 9pm on Christmas Eve while Santa was eating cookies in his kitchen? :D
I'm sure you'll be in Pawhuska looking for a free meal on Saturday but I didn't know a big bad pro like you would even mess with a "pitch-&-putt" like Riverside.
Don't worry about hauling wood. You'll never take the bed cover off your Lame-a-lanche anyway because like you said it's too short to haul anything. That's why you guys have gas logs. Julie said you tried to bring home real wood one time but you lost your load before you could get it into the fireplace. :o
Your skins match should be at Mohawk. You can call it..."Trench Golf". :D

Bump!
The last skins match of the year will be held at McClure park at 1:00pm on New Year's Eve and NOT at Black Hawk.

If you're gloing to be working on Black, it should be fine. I doubt they are going to argue with anyone wanting to lighten their load a little.
Thanks Jay! ;)

Ok... I've decided that I'm only going to bring 1 driver so if everybody on my card goes OB then they will have to wait until I run down and get my driver for the re-tee. :o
Hopefully I'll be right in front of Wise's card. :D

Only that you're the poster boy for the "Just Say No to Everything Association".
If we ever get a chance to vote on a pay raise for you city workers I'll be sure and follow your advice and join the club. :D
In the mean time I'm just going to sneak over to your house every once in a while and tear out your electric meter and weather head. :D

you can not get a disc that is O.B.,to use for re-teeing.
As far as I can tell, there is no such rule.
So, Furdog, you can carry the one driver and retreive it.
BUT There are rules covering the section of excessive time.
maximum of 30 seconds is allowed to each player to make a throw after:
(1) the previous player has thrown; and,
(2) the player has taken a reasonable time to arrive at the disc and mark the lie; and,
(3) the playing area is clear and free of distractions.
B. A player shall receive a warning for the first excessive time violation if observed by two or more players of the group or an official. The player shall be assessed one penalty throw for each subsequent excessive time violation in the same round if observed by two or more players of the group or an official.
So, with this rule in mind FurDog, if it is still your turn, you have 30 seconds to make your next throw. That would give you about 14 seconds to get to the disc, 14 seconds to get back to the tee area and about 2 seconds to execute your throw.
I know this sounds like it would be impossible but with the normal distance you drive, I think you could make it. :o:D

Well make sure you get out there with some orange paint and mark your BS 30ft radius so the whole group doesn't have to walk all the way down to see if anyone is in or not. Do you know how to count up to 30?
I know from past experiences that your TD skills are limited but I think in this case you need to step it up a little. I'll be sure and remind you every minute after 1pm that your event is not starting on time. :D

It will be fun as always and with the added OB rules, I'm sure there will be some moments to remember. ;)
