Some companies like to make more than 8 discs. It gives their consumers more of a choice. It makes it easier to win USDGC and Pro Worlds year after year when you aren't limited to 8 discs. That's why a Gateway Pro hasn't won either in........ever. Now unless you have a name idea, stick to your gateway threads.

Not to stir the pot, but Feldburg/Climo/Shultz could win any event they have with ANYTHING. Also, Innova has been around since late 1970s...Gateway 1999.
As far as naming goes, I've always kinda thought the whole animal thing was kinda weak....their newer names are much better.

I agree it gives consumers more choice, but the winners of the events you mentioned above are not consumers. I was once told where there is confusion there is money to be made. hmm

2 E-spirits

4 wizards
So considering these fly almost exactly the same does that mean I am limited?

No H/E a blend since the illusion can't be made in straight E.
Btw you probably have one.
no sir, I have h and h only, as I gave Danette the nike illusion, not knowing my other one was swiped from me.

Most of them say H on them. Hey why didn't you give me the Nike? What does it fly like?
the ones I got were right around 120g so they could not handle any torque, but made great left to right lines with little effort. The plastic is great btw.

to, accedental roller:
My question was not an attact on Innova or discraft only the player who changes his disc every other week before he actually learns the ones he already has.
To clear things up a bit for you, we ( Gateway) have 10 molds and 3 different tyoes of plastic giving us a pretty wide range of flight characteristics. At least enough to win some pretty big events coast to coast in all divisions!
Our sponsored players are competing at the highest level of competition, Justin Bunnell won a National tour event this past year in Bowling green , several supertours and tons of B-tiers over the last few years have been won, by Johhny McCray George Smith and Shawn Sinclair. Dario Re and Matt Hall have just turned pro and they seem to have enough models to win events already.
Several of our Amatuer players this past year were among the best in the game with Matt winning Mid nationals and coming in 2nd at Am worlds.
BTW we do have a world chamipon in the under 16 in Devan Owens and I'm pretty sure it only a sign of whats to come and it wont take 65 modles to do so!
So to clear things up for you our 10 molds are plenty enough to win at the highest level if youre are already good enough.
Take a good lesson here!
I will admit that there is still room for a few more models in our lineup, but It will be mostly to attract lesser skilled players who need the discs to do more of the work for the Power or skills they lack.
Players not that skilled keep buying the latest and greatest thinking it will make them better. For some it does improve the Distance but rarely their over all game.
The easier a disc flies futher, the harder it is to control.
" take another lesson here"
I dont want to cut off my nose to spite my face as new discs mean new sales, but not necessarily a better game.
Our focus as a company is to Install professional disc golf course facilities. Manufacturing and selling the products. was my way out of construction so that I could sell courses full time.
Its not all about how much money I can jam in my pocket by reinventing the wheel each week and convincing players " THIS IS THE ONE that will improve your game"!

At least on here. I think this game is no different than others as far as product goes. There is always a leading company and others upcoming with the anticipation of taking over. Eventually there will be more, as I feel the lack of intrest and promotion of the sport has it at a toddler stage of development. Theres always more money to be made and when that becomes apparent and disc golf hits the mainstream I think product companies will explode.
