Hi guys, I have a little money in my paypal account and wanted to pick up a new disc. I was going to get a tracker, but now the spectra caught my eye.

My current driver lineup consists of a 167 valk, 171 viking, and a 175 teebird (right turns, straight, hyzer respectivly).

I have many others but I dont like to carry too many and tha's my current lineup.

Can anyone compare the tracker and the Spectra (blake!) for me?

I was locked up on getting the Tracker, but those spectras look sweet! Especially the super color ones!

Spectra goes 12 (rated a modest 10 by Discraft)! By far the fastest disc and longest disc I have thrown in a long time. The Wraith is great, but requires more power to do it's thing.
I also love the Z Tracker, it's an awesome disc, and a must have in my bag. Still testing the Glo Tracker.

Wow, you make it sound like an awesome disc.

I might get one and fool around with it, thanks Boneman.

What kind of shots do you use the Tracker for? I heard it's similar to an XL, is that accurate (Ive never thown a TL, heard it's like one of those)?

The wraith is not in contention, neither is anythig that isnt Z type plastic.

To me the tracker is like a Champ Orc, except if flies more straight.

Sounds like you need to forget about a fast driver and get you a midrange disc and a putter.

I have lots of discs. I just listed the drivers that I usually choose. I carry mids and putters.

My full bag right now goes like this...
Drivers - Viking, Valk, Teebird, XS and a CE eagle
Mids- Cryztal Buzz, ontario roc, rancho roc
I put with a DX rhyno and a SE rhyno.

I like comparing the Tracker to the Buzzz better, accept it's way longer. And yes it's a good straight flier with minimal fade. It's very dependable.
If I want to throw a disc that is Orc like, I throw a [broken-in] first run Avenger.
Turnover driver is a light 2nd run Avenger. More hyser or wind, Z Avenger. Big hyser Tsunami or Z Preditor.
Here's my bag
174 1st run Soft Challenger
177 Z Glide
177 Midnight or 1st run Buzzz (not both)
164 Z Tracker (or heavier, depends on wind)
166 2nd run Avenger
165 1st run Avenger
167 Z Avenger
172 Spectra
172 Predator
150 1st run Z Flick (thumbers, short rollers), or heavier one depending on wind.
I have found that this covers almost every shot I might need, but occasionally I will throw in something else if a course demands it, or if it's windy I will go up several grams on weight for some of them. Or if I need a shorter turnover mid, I'll go with a beat Elite X Buzzz or D Buzzz.
I throw 90% backhand, and sidearm only when a shot might be easier doing so.
Sometimes I will throw in a heavy Wasp if it's windy too.

Where's my SPECTRAS!!!!!

I love 70% power discs that go far. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme!

Comparing a Tracker to a Buzzz is fine, but it's more like an XL to me, just a bit longer and tad faster.

My buzz is my go to disc for anything less then 200' or so. Similar flight pattern as a buzz, but longer... thats awesome:cool::D

I'll probably get one now and ask for the other for X-mas.

I really like the plain discraft swoosh stamp on the first Tracker's too.

Me too Hero! I'm nursing a leg injury and can't throw 100% right now.
Not gonna go all crazy, but this is going to be the driver for MANY MANY MANY people. So fast its sick. So easy to throw it unreal. It's like a blade through the air. Power throwers must get them pretty high to get all the flight, they don't want to come down.

the ztracker is sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
My friends that don't throw 100% cant' get it out there very far at all.
I tried to muscle mine out there, and it went about 60% of the distance a TEEBIRD did with simular flight shape.

I guess I"m trying to say:

Z Tracker 174g Yellow w/ custom Kalamazoo Battle Creek Championship stamp in green for trade.....pm me

Ever throw a Sidewinder? Even weenie-armed me can throw that pretty far.
I don't find it understable at all, it flys straight & fast then fades left at the end. (maybe I'm releasing it a bit hyzered? rhbh)

"Joe's Universal Flight Chart" rates the tracker as having a potential range comparable to a Starfire, Wraith, Avenger or other very long distance driver. Soooooooooo, maybe you need a lighter weight disc before you draw your conclusions?
Are you throwing the same weight Tracker vs. Teebird? Is your Tbird broken in, and the Tracker new?
I don't consider a comparison to the Tbird to be a good one, especially if you KNOW the teebird and its broken in. The Tracker has different flight characteristics (see Blakes chart). A 174g Tracker, brand new, isn't going to be very forgiving of any lack of power. Personally, I probably couldn't get jack out of a 174g Tracker, I throw 165g and that's a huge difference in weight. And, my Tracker is beat in pretty good, so it's flying the way it should fly, which for me, is freaking awesome. I wouldn't trade it for a Tbird no way.
And just for the record, I have a huge stack of Tbirds and have thrown them quite extensively. I will still throw them, because they are awesome discs. But for me, the Tracker has a special spot in my bag, for now.
If you are really interested in trying this disc, you might have to consider this. Try a different weight if your first throws don't feel good, or go far. Throw it more than 1 round before dissing it and going back to the disc you know so well. Give it some break-in time.
I was fortunate to get a weight that worked well for me on my first try. So for me, this thing was long, straight, and had a good balance of high speed to fade turn that makes it a very accurate flyer for me.

Another note on the Tracker, as mine gets more broken in, I'm finding that it can replace my Sidewinder for some low ceiling tunnel shots that I though only the Sidewinder could handle well. It holds a good straight low-level flight, with a predicable finish.
