$25 for a Bobby Hill "X"-Avenger? That's like paying $60,000 for a Madonna Edition Ford Focus. No thanks, I'll stick with my $16 Midnight Buzzz'z, $16 CFR Wraiths and $16 SB Teebirds.

Im pretty sure thats the price for the 1st 50 off the press that Nate personally signed!!! So that would be worth it to put on the wall or something.

I just got 5 Orange Nate Doss Z Avengers that I LOVE :D

I don't know much about cfr; I've always understood them to be rare and hard to find. But, if a special edition disc sells for 20-25 bucks? Why not a personally autographed one? Has there ever been such a release before?

I definately would like one, especially if it's autographed by Nate AND Bobby Hill.

Worth what??? And to who??? The only reason they are worth so much is because people find a special fun that they love and Innova stops making it and those people instead of just learning the new Champ stuff they spend a stupid amount of money trying to stock up on the 2nd Run flat top Valks that they are in love with :D

With all due respect to Innova, it's not the product that keeps me away: it's some of the users. Someone calls the world champion Bobby Hill, and how does Discraft respond? We think it's funny and have a giggle. Nate probably has gotten a chuckle from it.

Imagine if we were to criticize Innova or their sponsored player. People, would we get the same good-nature? Hellllll no....

Like I've answered those that ask why I like Discraft (Innova people I'll beat you to the punch: I know, I know, Discrap, wah, get over it). I've never seen a Discraft user or sponsored player go out of their way to inspect and harrass an Innova user. I do have Innova users and salesman want to flip through my bag and want to know what Discaft (yes guys I know Discrap), so that they can harass you the whole round through.

Who cares really?!?!?!

The Nate Doss Avengers are sweet as hell and 25 is nothing for one of the first 50 off the press hand signed by the WORLD CHAMPION!!! Plus the money goes to support the Playas Cup so buy those things up.

Second

I could play with a bag of anything from the big 3 disc companies.

Gateway~~Speed Demon, Illusion, Sabre, Elements, Wizards

Innova~~Firebirds, Orcs, Eagles, Teebirds, Rocs, Aviars

Discraft~~Preds, Tsunamis, Avengers, Trackers, Wasps, BUZZZs, Challengers

It may take a week or so for me to switch from my Discraft to the others but I could do it if I had to and play just as good as I do with my plastic of choice.

So throw whatever is it that you want to throw but dont knock it unless you have tried it :D

I find that while the H Illusion may be the closest thing to an Avenger (Z-Avenger, maybe), they don't really have anything all that similar to an X-Avenger. I think the X-Avenger is much easier to throw than any of the Gateway high speed drivers, especally for those of us who don't have huge amounts of power in our throws.

Nov 01 2005, 11:00 AM
Not knocking the product.

Scooter: avenger is like an illusion? Remind me which is the super overstable driver then...the one like a predator?

And Mr. Pimpness, I have tried the competing manufacturers; I'm in the process of learning Gateway discs. Now, that won't necessarily mean that I will like them, but I guess then I may knock, huh?

The only thing I havent really tried is Gateway and thats because I cant get it and when I tried to get a box from Dave at Gateway I was never sent anything to try so I just gave up and I throw their discs when people I know have them.

Gateway, Innova, Discraft, Millenium, Lightning and now Aerobie all makes discs that cover almost every type of shot. Some make more than others. The plastics are a little different. Some are domey, some are not, etc. Good players can throw just about anything and do very well. If you are the type of player that can't play without a 1st Run CE Valk or 1st Run Z-Buzzz, or whatever, then you will never play to your full potential. I just saw 10 top pro's at Oklahoma Open and saw more throws with beat up DX Rocs, Pro Wraiths, and Champ. Firebirds (and comparable discs in other plastics) than anything else. I saw a few CE Rocs and a few CE Firebirds and a CE Teebird, but not very many. So, once again, its not the arrow(s), its the indian.

Your right. Im just sayin Innova has way more and thats what makes their discs seem like they are worth more but in all reality a disc is only worth what some [I'm a potty-mouth!] will pay for it. I mean 300 dollars for an 01 CE Roc. Thats the dumbest thing in the world especially if that person isnt even going to throw the **** thing

Ill agree that Discraft has a few of these discs. IE 1st Run BUZZZ (but the Midnight is now the same) 1st Run Dark Orange Opaque Crushes, 1st Run Wildcats and the Cam Todd Challengers (which I am guilty or hording myself )

No disc is worth more then what it was first bought for. If I ever run out of 1st Run BUZZZs or Midnight BUZZZs then ill find something to replace it (although I think I have enough to last a couple lifetimes )

I had the same problem trying to get some putters from them. I kept calling and e-mailing and no one knew anything about my order. I would get responses on this board to the effect of, contact us. I almost didn't like the product before I recieved it.

The trick is finding a different vendor like Sun King that will ship your merchandise immediately. I know carry wizards and demons. But, for 35 bucks I almost disregarded a decent product.

If you had problems with an order and continue to try them, your a better man than me.

The CT is for sure the better of the 2 for putting and driving all Hero was saying is that Pro Ds are alot easier to come buy and replace if and when you need to do so.

The only downside to the CTs is that you have to put them away during the winter months because they have this nasty litte habit of cracking when you hit the cage on a putt (a la 9 Time Aviars)

Other then that the CT is the best challenger for putting and driving although I prefer the Pro Ds for my upshots as they beat in little quicker and are easier to throw on a straight line once they beat in a little bit :D

The thing is Innova has all the players that tour or semi tour and play EVERY single big event. Of course they are going to sweep most events and have most of the top finishers. I totally agree, Pimp. I just defend Innova alot, not because I'm sponsered, but because alot of people give them a bad rap. I've heard people say stuff like, "Their sponsered players are jerks", or talk bad other companies plastic, or whatever and I've never seen that from ANY SPONSORED PLAYER. I've probably met 40 or so sponsered players and never once have I heard an Innova Pro dog Discraft or vice versa. One Pro even told me that he throws Rocs but wasps are a better disc in windy situations without changing flight characteristics and if I like wasps I should throw wasps. I've had a discraft Pro tell me that he misses teebirds. So I have only had positive experiences. Maybe then just talk differently to me because I'm an Am.

Every team has its A-holes but in all seriousness the Innova guys really do push their plastic hard. Not that it matter but they do. Every up and comer and new young gun on tour they lean on real hard to switch to Innova. All the touring guys I know though are great guys and its more of a joke then anything with them.

In the end it doesnt really matter what you throw. Throw what you like. I throw Discraft because I like their plastic. I dont like the feel of Innnova and I dont like the bead on the KC Aviars and I love the Predator mold which is what the Avenger is based off of :D

Sounds to me like you got way to many discs in your bag that do almost the same thing. I think if you narrowed it down you would see yourself improve alot faster and you would start to learn your discs better. Just my opinion.

I think you could get rid of the Wraith, Proline Candy Firebird, Coyote, 05 Roc 1 of the beat KC Pros and get yourself some D Challenger the X does fly as far and its alot harder to throw and putt with.

In normal conditions, about 30-40 ft.
With head wind, about 50-60ft with better predictability.
With tail wind, about the same.

No offense but I would be willing to bet that if the Wraith would have came out before the Orc, you would be saying that it Orc goes further.

How is it that every new disc is just a little faster and longer than the last one? I think it is all in the mind.

I can throw a Crush just as long (if not longer)as any other wide-rimmed disc on the market.

Well I have yet to get a good rip with my wraith (small hands i think) and I can still out drive my orc. But I only throw my wraith on WIDE OPEN holes. Orc, Teebird, and Firebird for everything else. I could probably get by without my Wraith. I just got a Champ Starfire and its about to kick my wraith out. My Champ starfire flies like a little bit longer, more stable/overstable orc without the huge rim of the wraith.
But your right, for most people its all in their heads. It just feels to me that I have to really crush my orc to get it to fly as long as my wraith. Though, I think I'll stick to my orc and starfire for now because I am more comfortable throwing them.

That very well may be it. Sometimes high expectations yeild high results. I must say that I was not getting much D out of my crush, but maybe I got rid of it too quick.

My friend still has my old crush. Maybe I can borrow it for a weekend.

You know Kid, I think you're right. I haven't been throwing my orcs or wraith very well lately, so I played mostly with my teebird. And on a 500ft hole, I threw my teebird farther than I've thrown my wraith or orc ever on that hole (about 470-480ft). I just know that I can almost throw teebirds, firebirds, etc. farther than wide-rimmed drivers since I have small hands. I just can't get the snap out of big rims that I can with the normal rimmed drivers.

Has anyone thrown the Nate Doss Sig, and compared it to the 1st Run, 2nd run Avenger? Or is the Nate Doss Sig a 2nd run with a new stamp?

I haven't. But I did get out and throw some ordinary run Z-Avengers yesterday for the first time. They flew a lot like the Crush but a little bit farther. I could see switching to those when my Crushes fail to swim to the shore or bounce out of the deep schule somewhere sometime.
