I�m in the proposal stages of having a 36-hole course built in Mansfield, Texas. Everything is looking very good with this being so early into the talks.

The city of Mansfield is wanting me to get as many names of players that will play the course. They want to see how much interest there would be outside of Mansfield. They also want to know how many people I could get to come to a tournament on a temporary course to raise funds for it.

My Wife's Parents live on the edge of Arlington/Masfield, I would be there every time we visit them :D

What park are you looking at?? I will check it out next time I am over there.

Right now we are just talking about different areas. Next week we will be scouting out places. I don�t think its going to be in an existing park. They are in the process of designing 3 new parks, and I think I may be on the verge of talking them into building a park just for the course. If any of you live in the area, you know that Mansfield and Cedar Hill are two of the fastest growing cities in Texas. When Mansfield found out that Cedar Hill just put in the two courses, they seemed excited about it. I guess its one of those our city has to have one if yours does things.

In the proposal that I did, I also stated the needs for benches, picnic tables, water fountains, bathrooms, and a gazebo area. It seems that if they do this, they are going to put everything that I asked for into this course.

sure, i'd be there no question about it. so would a BUNCH of DFW folks, i think you can count on it.

also, i am an active member of the Course Designer group with experience installing courses and would be glad to help with any "selling", parks/rec interfacing, etc, including course design and installation work. i'm officially in Arlington city, but in the Mansfield ISD.
