I purchased one of these on ebay 2yr's ago for $135. One just sold on ebay for over $300 Buck's. The price is going up I wonder when it will reach $500. How many disc collector's have these in there possesion? I am curious. Maybee we can get an idea of how many are in existence and unthrown like the most recent 2001 CE Roc sold on ebay.
Here is the Link. web page (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7190420187&rd=1&sspage name=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1)
Just write in the amount and maybee we can get an idea.

I wish i had bought more than 6 of them! :p Think about it though...would you have paid $150 for 6 discs? It was $10 more than the most expensive disc that was currently being produced at that time. It was a gamble....and luckily this time it paid to play.

I bought 4 because $100 was nice round number. Even though $100 was a lot of moola for 4 discs, I wasn't buying four discs. I was supporting the best tourney in the world and a c-note seemed reasonable.

When dealing with something like the 01 ce roc, your best bet is to put it on Ebay. Your chances of getting $200 for a used one around town, or on the message board is slim, but if you put it on Ebay......? :D

i figure most people that know what a 2001 Roc is and what it sells for, probably know what the pdga discussion board is. and if no one wants it thats fine, i'll sell it in 2-3 years for $300+. i just sold a used Monster and a used Z Buzz on ebay for $40 a piece (includes shipping), i wouldn't be suprised if someone bought a used '01 roc for $200+.
I bought two at the Worlds when they came out with the intention of NOT throwing them. I changed my mind after seeing how many were flying around the courses that weekend.
I still have BOTH although one is used. I will NOT throw the new one. Its one of my favorites.

HOLY CRAP!!! Either people are complete morons or they have alot of money they dont care about. I mean seriously. What are you guys thinking when you spend 300 dollars on a molded piece of plastic???
You could buy a portable Chainstar during christmas with that kind of money. Thats like paying 15000 dollars for the Nike ball golf driver that came out in 2001. Its just rediculous!!! Especially if your not ever going to throw it
You guys keep paying 300 for your rocs and Ill keep paying 25 for my 1st Run BUZZZs and I can promise you once they start costing over 30 dollars to buy a 1st run Z BUZZZs I will stop buying them :D

I guess you should stop buying them then, I just sold a USED one (red -176grams) on Ebay for $34.50 + $5 shipping, if you know where to get $25 1st Runs, please tell me where I'd like to buy about 20 of them.
That is why it is a collector's item. Plastic or whatever it may be is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. If people have the money, they will do with it what they wish to. Leave them be.

Some people payed more for a stupid Grilled Cheese Sandwich on ebay!
That would be because it was one of a kind and had lasted god knows how many years on the shelf and it had the face of the vigin mary in it. That in no way is the same as paying 300 dollars for a 01 CE Roc :D
it is the same for cars, pimple. No one needs to shell out the cash for a mercedes to get them to where they need to go, but they have the cash and they choose how to spend it. I think these expensive cars should come with a bumper sticker that says "hey, I didn't have anything better to spend money on" or something like that.

When I was big into ebay, I would go under different peoples past purchases to see what they bought. I remember thinking: wow, this guy must really like the 01 CE Roc! He would buy them at 85, 95, 100, up to 150. I remember that he bought something like 20 of them. He would sell discs and buy the 01's. I'm sure he has close to 20 that are mint...

There is no comparison between a 2001 CE ROC and any Buzzz or Wasp ever produced. Sorry but there isn't. A 2001 CE ROC is a collectors item and NO most people spending $150 to $540 for a disc probally won't throw them. It's an investment. Imagine if your stock portfolio had the same type of performance as a ROC in 4 years. Imagine again in 20 to 30 years when this sport finally gets the due recegnition and media coverage it deserves. You'll be able to sell 1 2001 CE ROC and put a kid through college.
In 1912 a kid somewhere bought a Honus Wagner ball card for 2 cents and his friends got on him because 2 cents was a lot especially when he could have bought candy with it. Last year his son sold the card and took the money and bought a private island down in the Florida keys.

I found a "slightly used, field tested" one for $85 including shipping... to be honest, i'm not very impressed with it... it flys nice, but my Z buzzz is nicer... all a matter of opinion. To sell it for 600$ in another year. The disc golf public has deemed it the most collectible and expensive disc. The numbers of unused '01 Rocs are dwindling.
For the price of 1 '01 CE Roc you could buy at least 2 Prototype Eagles, a disc worth way more to the games history than the CE Roc.
As always, a disc is worth what the person will pay for it, and some people will pay alot.
What leads you to beleive these discs will reach this monetary value?
Just speculation but I'll answer anyway. If we ever do get on TV it will be the USDGC that puts us there. Any merchandise from the early years will imediately multiply in value. With the 01 ROC being the most collectible disc in the sport right now I would assume that would remain true for years to come. In 4 years the value of the thing has increased 1100%. Figure 20 to 30 years???
As for the collection of which I spoke earlier Moolie still doesn't have it (no offense Moolie) While he may have the red 01 (just 1?) and the orange Kangaroo there has been no mention on his part of the big bird stamped 01 (yes 1 exists), :D, the Disclanding stamped 01 (2 of em) :D, the "perfect" clear 01, the white 02 (1) :D, the set of every clear from every year with every stamp available....can I stop now?

Hasn't the ghost stamp Zonedriven CE Roc that preceeded the '01 USDGC Roc gone for a lot more money? I had the fortune of owning one of those. I traded a pumpkin 8X Roc for it in early '01. I later traded it for 3 '01 CE Rocs, an 8X Roc, and an illegal 9X Roc. That original trade netted about $1200 in subsequent trades and is still going. I.E.- the first '01 Roc got me four CE Valkyries, and so on....you get my drift. That's not too bad for an original investment of $6 to Skysouth. Thank you Jim Orum!

The Ghost Stamp discs I was referring to are the same as a Black Stamp the stamp is just clear. The truth is the Balck stamps never looked good even out of th box. Many were touched up with black marker. There are also a batch of not totally clear 01 Rocs that are yellow/clear that are out there. I have a couple that are both light (167 and 174) and they both have a Ghost Stamp that says Zone Driven like the totally clear ones. I am not sure if ther are any heavy one like this.
