A few months ago, when I was trying to find a new course, this popped up in the search:

"Apple Valley - Lake Alimagnet Trails - sightings of a figure who seems to look like a clown have been reported. The clown does not seem to be harmful, but stares at you. The only intent is to scare you away from the wooded trails. Sightings have been reported mostly at dusk, just as the sun sets."

Well, the new course is in, some holes are in these woods, and we've been having a lot of fun with this piece of "information" around here. No one has actually seen the clown while playing (that I know of).

So, anyway, with Halloween approaching, I thought this might be a good time to share stories of other haunted disc golf courses.

(P.S. I put this here instead of Misc, because to some people, knowing whether a course is haunted is valuable information.)

Not really a ghost, but there have been rumors of a mysterious hermit living in the woods around Castle Hayne Park in Wilmington, NC. He steals discs to use as plates and uses the baskets as grills and sometimes pulls them out of the ground. There have been no sightings of the "Castle Hayne Hermit".

Both Buzzy's Creek, near West Milford NJ, and Campgaw Reservation, near Mahwah NJ, are reported to have strange occurances consistent with paranormal experiences. :eek:

I've spotted an elusive, balding wiry figure with almost superhuman abilities sprint up and down the hills at both locations, but I'd say that was pair-a-normal experiences.
