Another understable disc. I was wondering how long before another sidewinderish disc would be produced. My next question is:
How long before you can get it in pro plastic.
Just kidding. But seriously, I'm expecting archangel with alot more bend at the end of its flight.

It was in the players pack for the USDGC, correct? There are a few on ebay. Also, they're on sale at DiscGolfValues, but are not on sale at ZoneDriven. (does that not make sense to anyone else?)

Yeah. The guy who runs discgolfvalues works at Innova and probably had them in stock before USDGC, Im sure ZoneDrivens will be up in a day or two.

That makes sense. The've also made it to innova's website. By chance has anyone that got one at the USDGC thrown one yet, either the one in the players pack or the one with the standard stamp?

I threw one yesterday, against a Sidewinder and CE Leopard. It's a beat sidewinder, so the comparison may not be perfect. The sidewinder seemed to have a little more flip for me, at least, it has a quicker flip for me. The Roadrunner turned, just not as quickly as the Sidewinder. The Leopard was a stable pig compared to these other 2. I tried to throw rollers, but only had time to try one. Seemed similar to the SW, when put on a slight anhyzer flat power drive. That's how I roll the winder, low and hard, slight annie. Will be practicing a bit more with it. It does seem to make a great finnesse disc. I threw it with a little hyzer and moderate power and it was quite accurate at the 300 foot range. I was able to throw all three within a 6 foot circle from 300 feet. All different flights, but each controllable in their own way.
I like this disc. Will keep playing with it till it replaces my Sidewinder or not.
I got a pink 175 USDGC stamped one.

I'll have a pile of them by the end of the week or maybe Monday. They will be for sale at the Widdershins the following Saturday. I currently throw the Sidewinder for lefty [off-hand] anhyzers so I'll compare the two when they are here and it is not raining.

Chances are approximately zero. I want to dye some discs this weekend. Cut the grass if it is warm enough to start the mower. I'll have them at the Widdershins at Bevier Park in Waukegan the following weekend.

Threw the longest roller I've ever thrown with the RR. About 520'. I usually dont throw distance rollers but if I needed one, this would be in the bag.

For people that throw a sidewinder, how would a rr fit into their bag? as a dedicated roller?

personally I love understable discs, and use the sideweiner often, when not Wraith'en it up. I'm looking forward to goofing around with one of these and seeing how it does ye olde hyzerflip.

I threw the Roadrunner some on the football field today.
The rim is convex on the bottom, almost a mirror image of the top, you know, rounded out instead of in.
In the air the disc is a little slower and about as understable as a Sidewinder. In Innova terms, it seemed to have about the same turn, and less fade.
Throwing RHBH rollers, it is not so understable as to flip over and roll on its own, but it is easy to turn over. Once it is on the ground it does a pretty good job of holding the line you put on it, if you were going for a straight line.
I think this would be a good disc to recommend to anyone trying to learn how to throw a roller. For the most part I no longer recommend that people learn how to roll because my back doctor thinks it is not good for anyone's L4-L5. But if you need to blow out your own L4-L5 before you can hear that, yeah, the Roadrunner is great!

Tell your ortho to "give me a break!". It could be the final straw that breaks the proverbial back. Throwing a roller is no more dangerous than having sex. :)Three out of four adults have a herniated disc they don't even know about.

I was throwing the Roadrunner with Jon some on Sunday and like it a little more than I did at first. I want to get it out to Edgebrook in Chicago where there are opportunities to roll 500 feet or more on several holes.

Try releasing as close to perpendicular to the ground as possible, then back off until it starts landing at the angle that you get a straight roll from. Because the shape of the rim is the same top and bottom, it does not "volunteer" to roll like an understable disc will, but once you figure out the release where you get a straight up roll, it will roll straight for a long time.

Jon saw me pop one that wanted to go 500 feet but about 350 feet away it hit a sidewalk and hopped straight up. This is a roller for people who know how to throw a disc on a roller angle, not for people who need a whacky understable disc to turn over for them. When you put it on the good roller angle you can throw it a good distance in the air and it holds that angle, then it lands and takes off rolling. But you have to do the work to put it on that angle.

I totally agree with bruce_brakel, this disc takes some skill to throw as a roller ... But once you get that angle figured out, and how to get some D on it ... it's GONE.
I don't agree that this is a good beginner disc. There are many better, and easier discs to throw for beginners out there.
I threw a couple of Roadrunners today that looked like they would never stop.

I spent some time throwing the Roadrunner at the football field today. I really think this is the best backhand roller disc ever made. In the air it does a great job of holding the angle you released it on, and on the ground it rolls neutral. It does not want to cut or flip unless you put it down on a cut or flip angle.
I cannot wait for the Chicago City Disc Golf Championship next year.
P.S. For those who care, the Big Paw trophy discs are done and some look really cool. They came out to about 3-5 really cool, 5-3 cool enough, and 3 sort of lame. I'll post pics at www.discontinuum.org/forums. (http://www.discontinuum.org/forums.)

Bruce...I totally agree with you. I got one in the mail yesterday and took it out to a fundraiser tourney here in Des Moines. First throw with the disc was on a 390 foot tunnel hole...slight down hill. I released it with a bit of hyzer on it and it flattened and flew straight and true right to the pin. Tickled right side chains. Then I threw it for a backhand roll on a wide open hole to see how it would do and it rolled quite straight and true. I think Innova has another winner on its hands. I imagine it will be a great finess driver too for those wooded courses.

Would you say , it is close to being like a CE TL -TeeBird ?
As far as flight and roller tendencies , more CE Leopard like as well ?
Or a cross between those two and a Sidewinder ?

A Sidewinder wants to flip out and roll to the right, thrown right hand back hand. The Roadrunner is not that understable on the ground. I don't know all those other hybrids.
I threw the Raodrunner some at the Invitational today. It was windy and not ideal conditions but I felt like throwing it. It definately has a place in my bag. Something now has to come out of the bag. The QuarterKs are looking at heading to the big junk box in the back of the garage!

I had thrown a Quarter K and it hit a tree hard. It doesn't even roll now.
So , it sounds like the RoadRunner is a stable roller ?
