Im looking for something more understable than a wizard, its fine for me within 25 feet but i want something that will fly straighter at further distances. right now im thinking about the magnet

The Wizard is too overstable at longer distances?
I have had, and seen that most people have trouble with understable putters at longer distances.
Within 60ft the stability of the putter is negligent for me except in heavy winds. But I have to throw over 150ft, then I need a more overstable putter.
But to answer your question, yes, the Magnet would be less stable. An Aviar will have a similar (not same) feel as the Wizard to give you some familiarity. The Magnet has a funny rim. My buddy loves them and usually throws them on holes 325ft and less. Holes 325-400 he throws a spider. It's amazing watching him throw slow/understable discs that far. Too bad his wife won't let him play that often.
But I ultimately suggest sticking to one putter and making it work for you. I use the Challenger.
Pro-D Challenger for all standard putts and approaches less then 100ft.
CT Challenger for heavy wind conditions of heavy hyzer putts.
Crystal Challenger for wooded holes or shots 100-250ft.
All the same disc, slight stability changes because of plastic. I believe Gateway makes less stable wizards, check it out.
Beat up Super Soft Omega. Those things are monnnney

Soft Apx. Or if you can find one, get a Swirl Apx. They are very sweet.
Just as My-Hero.
P.S.--I also like understable for long distances. This is because it takes less arm to keep it going straight.

I like the hard as hell kc pro aviar 175's. Slightly understable, and true as the day is long.

I bet you would love an EliteX APX...if you can find one. Just a tad understable, good for longer and shorter putts. Feels grippy, holds the chain well too.
I also have a glo Putt'r that is pretty understable for a putter. Definitely glides further with less effort, but I think a bit unreliable for putts over 40 ft. or so.

all of mine are 11x
Magnet is a good choice. Also, I had a z putt'r that was understable, actually more stable than understable. I hated it though; my gf loves it.

if you're looking for candy plastic, try the Qmega. I was a sceptic at first when my buddies started carrying that banner, but I eventually broke-down and got one.
This is a sweet driver/putter disc. Durable, predictable, and will grab the chains with authority. The grippier the plastic, the more stable it is. It also feel like a lighter disc for my final shot of the hole (I seek-out 168-172 putters usually,) but a max weight will fly like lighter weights in other lines.
Try one. Do it. Do it! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I have a Q Omega that I would let go pretty cheap.
Gateway is working on a beadless wizard to be called the magic. I don't know when it will actually make it to the shelves. I understand what you mean about the stability of wizards, but I just keep a few in my bag at varying levels of wear. My beat one is less stable than the others.

ct challenger is also overstable like a wizard.

That's what I was thinking. I like them overstable due to the high wind down here, but I have a soft (or maybe its supersoft) wizard that is somewhat stable. I'm thinking it's because it was the first one I took out of the box and tried to learn it (the wizard), so I putt with it for an entire afternoon. It did seem to take quite a beating. I'm actually using a firm and a medium (cause I don't have another firm for back up yet). But, I could see myself using the stable one for non-windy days.
It's a shame you don't live close by as I have buckets of putters from aviars/magnets/putt'r/etc. That way you could try them out until you find one you like.
What I do if I find a disc that I've never tried is buy it and spend some time getting to know it. I don't always stick with it, but to me it's fun to try new things. Of course you end up with a closet full of discs that way.... I still have a sentinel I don't know what to do with.

Hey Hank ... Have you ever tried putting in the wind with a Gator? I carry a 1st run 175g Champion Gator for those conditions. It's a sick disc for windy putts, upshots and approaches in the wind.

No, I haven't actually. I was looking for a gator for the wind. Then decided on a drone, and somehow ended up with a demon, but I can't putt with the damned thing.
The locals here use a spider to putt with. How similar is a gator to a demon? The demon is too driver-like to putt with. I notice the gator is shaped like a spider.

The Gator is a lot like a putter, but will fly like a Drone, or Wasp ... absolutly awesome, and underrated disc IMO. I won't play on a windy day without one.
And it's great for putting, it has a low flat profile and nice round lip on it.
Another nice thing about the Gator is it's relatively soft in the middle, so it works well in situations where you have to hit the basket or land near it, without rolling away. Drones, Wasps and I would guess Demons will rolllllllllllllllll away.
I also think the Gator is better for upshots and midrange shots in the wind, than the Drone ... but then I'm not a Drone fan. I would choose a heavy Z Wasp before a Drone anyway.
I never feel like my Gator is going to get away from me. It's money.
A 175g Gator feels like a 178 Wasp to me, but may be a little more stable.
