Plus i was hearing some bad things about the m-14... Does anyone have the DB-5? Is it as nice as it looks? man i cant wait to get the thing up on my 3 acre yard...

I heard the D-B5 tears up your putters.

I haven't noticed that. The basket catches well, and I haven't had any problems with it.

From what I've seen...
Early versions were "unfinished", that is the vertical rods that are bent over the rim of the basket were not bent all the way down. They were left sticking out like little fish-hooks. I got some door-stop covers and covered all mine, or you can cut them off with a good saw.
This seems to have been fixed as new advertisements don't show any "hooks".
Also, the chains are heavy and somewhat inflexible. This leads to a putt that is hard and high to get it to stay, very unlike my normal style.
I leave the one that I won in the front yard (my practice hole) so that when I get frustrated with it, I am forced to go to my back yard (practice green) and throw putts only.
On a plus side, it does seem quite durable when compared with other "cheap" models.

i have a m-14 [least fave], some dc sports[very nice], and a db-5 [most burly] db-5 is the best of the 3 imo

I want to add inter chains to my DB-5. Anyone know what size chain I should ask for?

I love my DB-5. It does not catch like a Chainstar (all-time favortie) but that is good in a practice basket right? If you can put them in nice and steady on the DB-5 then you should have no problem on a normal course basket.

I played a temp course with DB 5's....the best part was watching all the different ways a disc could be rejected by chains.

Like they said, it's heavy duty & durable, you don't have to worry about bending it or banging it up. It's fast & easy to setup and take down, although, all together it is somewhat heavy. It doesn't catch as well as a Mach III, V or Discatcher, but it's much better than the M-14 or In-step baskets.
