Who likes what and why? I use a JK but I am looking to change to something stiffer.
OK this is how i would rate them in Stability from Least Stable to Overstable:
Classic Aviar
DX Aviar
Pro Aviar
Champion Aviar(they are all small bead now I think. Otherwise the big bead would be more overstable than all of them)
KC pro AViar
JK Pro Aviar..
NOw for the RUndown on the plastics:
-The Classic AViar is super Stiff DX and is almost beadless.. AFter you use it for a while there won't be much bead left... It's one of the stiffest discs i've ever thrown.
-DX Aviar is regular dx.. always seems to be on the softer side though(softer than a Roc for example).. They are all now small bead if I remember correctly.
-Pro Aviar is just a DX Aviar in Pro Plastic.. NOt stiff plastic, but moe like the original run PRo Orcs.. I don't like the feel on these and they don't seem to glide very well.
-The Champion Aviar is a very nice disc. The Red one i used to have was Soft and Small bead.. IT had a lot of glide and was great for drives.. I think these are only made in Small bead now although they have KC's signature on them which should mean they are a KC aviar in champion plastic.
-The KC Pro is stiff like the Classic, but a little softer.. It's big bead so it will be more stable. Many people that push putt will either use the Classic or the KC pro.
-The Jk Aviar-x is The softest of all of them although the New 5x seem to start out as stiff as a DX aviar. They are also Big Beaded which makes them overstable. My 4x is very soft even in the rim But it's very overstable. I'd consider the JK to be more overstable than any other production run of Aviar although that is just from experience with my disc.
AS for me:
I throw a Classic Aviar and a JK..
My Classics are used for Push Putting and straight/turnover Drives and most of my upshots.
My JK is used for Hyzer Drives/Hyzer Upshots and Jump putting from outside 50feet.
Hope that helped a little bit.

Thanks, that really helps answer my question. Way to stick to topic there champ. I'm so glad every topic turns into "My plastic is better than your plastic"

I always pick what just seems to feel good in my hands and the way it releases. The details between a lot of discs out there are so small. I've seen players switch to a new putter just because they made one great putt with it.
I putt a 3x jk aviar, very broke in, when inside 30ft. Out side of that I would also have to recomend a wizzard. I try to putt with an anhyzer approach most of the time, when outside 30ft. The wizzards holds that line perfectly.

Never said it was better but I have used all kinds of avais over the years and it just seems that it is easier to throw a wiz than carry ten different types of aviars. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

well instead of a wizard or 10 different aviars, you could just use a kc pro aviar for everything

NO, NO, of course not. Why would placing 1st in an Open event and denying cash so you can play Am Worlds make you a bagger? I don't think anyone called YOU a bagger. No, I'm certain; no one called you a bagger.
I carry a JK and an aviar. The JK cause its more stable for cross wind putts and cause its a straight flyer for up shots under 200 ft. The avair I've used since I started playing and have used it as my putting has progressed. To change to another putter now, I think, would tweek my short game and we all know that minor changes up close can mean major changes in over all score. I get very little bounce outs/chain splitters with it. When I do (all too often) it's usually my falt not the disc. I'v come to depend on it and if by some freak event they stopped running them I'd go out and buy every one I could find.
Oh, buy the way, I'm all for the "bounce bagger" button. :D

In the last eight rounds I have been either tying the course records or being within two stroke of it. It is the tourny course that scares me because the strokes can rack up with OB

i have 7 kcs but i just feel they give me the best grip of the aviars
Nice thread -- my condolences about the drift.
I use JK Aviars and my most beat ones are of course somewhat a different animal (not so stable) as my newer ones. so i carry a few for different purposes. I use them for shots 250 feet away and in unless i need a much less stable (DX Stingray) or a much more stable flyer (Pro Classic Roc).
i had started moving to the Coyote for the 200 feet and out scenarios but i put mine in a pond (anyone have 176-180g Coyotes to trade PM me -- i may have stuff you like)
The KC Pro and JK Pro share the same Aviar mold but are simply different plastic (KC stiff; JK soft).
I love how the JK's don't skip a lot and tend to grab. that helps on iffy putts as well as when you don't want to slip off slopes or skip too far. I've heard some say they can't get floppy (soft) discs to fly as far as stiff ones, but i do not experience that problem.
