Anyone thrown these. There is a distance, mid, and putt I guess. I just was wondering what the deal is?

i've seen the proto, but they hadn't fixed some production problems causing the rim to collapse and ended up super overstable insted of straight flying.
the theory on the ridges is sort of the opposite of the ching contours design. the ridges were meant to disturb and slow air passing over the top, keeping the disc from turning or fading. no idea how they fly though.

So the patent on "the rings of Headrick" must've run out, too, eh?
I dont know if it is a prototype but they are selling these at sunkingdiscs.com. Weird looking thing.

Screw Innova and Discraft, I'm switching my bag to ALL Aerobie, ALL the time. ;)
Well you at least have to hand it to them for "breaking the mold" of conventional discs & trying out new concepts.

Just make sure to carry a little oven to fix your discs on course!

Are you being facetious? I can't tell.
Doesn't the Discraft Ultra-star have the "Rings of Headrick"? Ditto the Innova Pulsar and I believe the Apple too?

I thought the Pulsar and the UltraStar had smooth tops.
I'm pretty sure the rings from the old WhammO pro series were patented. But that's a long time ago so that probably expired too.

correct rhett. i believe it ran out around the time the #1 flyer was launched as a #1 driver with rings.
the aerobie rep told me the sharpshooter line had the rec player in mind. they wanted something that would fly straight for people with 150-200' power... but still resemble a driver in its basic shape/design...
what i got the impression of is that they have a slightly different idea of what a dg throw should be like. the guy was referencing the dga animated .gif with the straight arm throw to me...

I've only seen the Pulsar once, but...
I know the Ultrastar has the rings.
