Next Monday (Oct.3rd), I go before the city parks commission to propose a 9-hole disc golf course at a local park. Any advice on what to say or what documents to take?
TIA,

Lots of good information at Innova
Innova course design (http://www.innovadiscs.com/coursedesign/index.html)
I believe they can also provide some professional promotional materials you can use in your presentation.
Harold and the gang at Innova east have been a great big help in our course. It also helps that they're only 2 hours away.
I found some usefull information here: http://newhanoverdiscgolf.tripod.com/proposal.htm
When we (Foothills Disc Golf Club) first approached the city council they were not too excited about a course. When we told them the club would fund it through sponsors and other fund raising activities it got their attention. They gave us permission to use land around a new baseball complex. We installed the front nine and held our first Ice bowl in Feb. 2002.
Being a charity event we got some good press and the city fathers started to take notice, a little. This year we have installed the back nine and held our first sanctioned event. We had 73 people show up for our "Firecracker Fling" on the 4th of July. We gave the city fathers a list of the players and where they came from. That really got their attention. When they saw how many people came in from out of town to play our tournament things changed.
We just finished getting concrete tee pads installed at the city's expensse. They are talking about expanding another 9 holes at the complex and maybe a small pitch and putt and another park in town.
When we started installing the course we found beer bottles, trash and other things all around the woods where the course is now. Now there is so much traffic through the woods there are no more places for that kind of activity. The park is much cleaner.
Disc golfers will take their trash out with them along with someone elses.
We now have a local home school group that has made disc golf part of their regular activities.
Ealey has hosted the Big League World Series for the last 4 years and the course has given the players something to do between games.
I'll finish rambling now.
I hope any of this helps.
