Beads are the little ridgde along the bottom lip of the disc. its clearly an extruded bump on a disc, and if you go through your bag, or someone elses, just look for the little ridge on the bottom of the midranges. Small bead just means the bead isnt as pronounced, and wont make the disc as overstable.

no bead - tends to be understable (although it depends on the disc)
big bead - Tends to make discs fly significantly more overstable.
Small Bead - its just inbetween those.

i cant really give any examples of small beads, because i cant say ive ever owned a disc with a small bead. i know beaded, and non beaded.

Current Aviar Putt and Approach molds have a small bead. The KC Pro Aviars have a big bead. The small bead aviars are slightly less stable at high speed and hold there line a little longer where as a big bead Aviar will be more stable at high speed and will tail off slightly at the end of there flight. If you are putting you really don't notice much difference, but I do think that a small bead aviar will float around a little more on you on windy days. Some players also like the feel of the big bead in their hand rather than a small bead disc.

Here are a couple pictures for you to compare the two types of Aviars currently being made. The Orange disc on the left is a small bead Aviar, the white disc on the right is a big bead aviar. You can see the difference pretty good in the pics.

I've had a couple older aviars make it back into my bag lately, seems like they're beaded between those shown (they are san marino if that means anything...)

my wasps have big beads, my buzzz' seem barely beaded...

a buzz is a beadless wasp. thats why some of the early buzz's say wasp on the inside rim. they are a modified wasp mold
