I just learned that hole #12 at Winthrop Univ. on the gold course is 1900 ft!!! I thought the 800ft monster at my home course (McNaughton-Pekin, IL) was huge!!! Are there any longer holes out there than 1900ft?

It's not 1900 feet. It's around 1100 ft. There's a thread in the Courses topic that lists the longest holes in the U.S.

Hole 18 at Solitude is 1219', and they lengthened it to about 1350' for the tournament. Straight down a ski run though, does that count ;)?

Renny Gold in Charlotte has one round 1050 I think....and Northeast Creek Park in Jax NC has a hole that is 1001.

I'm sure some Fly 18 holes have been around 1100+ before as well.

Fly has many long holes. Both big courses have 4 par 5s mission has the biggest at 1,224 slightly uphill.Ken Jarvis passed up the hole by 30 ft on his second shot and hit the comback for an eagle. Hole 1 at mission is 1,204 sarasota also has 4 par 5s the longest is 1,152.They all par out.I design with a 300 ft throw on average and then add the diffficulty factor.

Arn't these holes that are ball golf course designed with a basket planted? And not disc golf courses by design. I play ball golf and a par 3 on a ball golf course is 500' on average.

The longest hole is just a pee contest. You know how much real estate goes for, a 1200 foot hole with a 200 foot fairway is 5 and 1/2 acres. Who will pay taxes on this much land just to brag they have the biggest boner hole?

Sep 20 2005, 11:51 PM
Then again you can go to eastern Nevada where the land goes for $5 per acre and make a course where every hole is 1/2 mile.

Is someone a little jealous?

No, the longest hole at Hyzer Creek is 712 feet, that's enough boner to keep a loose-lipped girl like me happy. Any bigger than 712 feet, and it's ooch ouch.

Hole #7 at Fewell Park in Rockhill, SC is 63' ( with a teepad and tee sign saying the distance ) Probably not the longest hole out there but still pretty long!
P.S. it is also down hill heh

Longest and hardest permanent hole I've seen in person is at Ohio Northern University, there's a hole that I wanna say is 757ft. with a large water hazard directly in the middle, so you can go around either side.

Coming this summer at Highbridge, the new permanent par 6, 1300+ ft hole on the Highbridge Gold course (old #7 tees to #8 pins). For those who know the course from 2005, a new par 3 hole will be added in the woods beside old #1 & #2. Old hole 2 becomes #3 and will be extended by about 200 feet making it a par 5 over 800 feet. The hole numbers for holes 2 thru 7 will become 3 thru 8. No major changes to 9-18 but more landscaping will be completed.

That sounds sweet Chuck. #7 to #8 pin makes that hole awesome. Hole #2 was sweet too, that is going to be a tough par 4 now!
