Innova has retooled the Beast and I'm curious to know what people are experiencing. This has been my go to driver for 0 wind or down wind drives.
The new disc does not have the traditional claw bevel on the underside rim, instead, it is flat to almost convex (like the Quarter K).
In my hands (and I've only thrown it a few times) it sees to now be more stable than the Orc (although the Orc I was throwing was seasoned).
Anyway, let me know what you are seeing.

Ive seen some "retooled" Star-Stamped Beasts on Ebay going for around $75. Are those the ones your talking about?

Yes that is the one also. THe only reason he is jacking the price of the disc is the starstamp on it. I have seen both in hand and they are the same. The 2X BS Beast and the star stamp proto BL are the same.

I'm partially defering to widi on this. What Dave D. posted was that the line had been retooled so all new beasts will be different, Star Stamped or not.

be careful though...some 2x BS beasts are still in the 1x Mold
like mine:eek:
i still havent had the chance to try out the new beast, but i heard its less stable, a bit more of a straight flyer.
I have the new 2x Champion Beast and the flight pattern for it is very different than the flight pattern that is on the pro beast. The 2x is less stable than the older mold. It is not as understable as a sidewinder but it is a bit less stable than a starfire. It turns over easier than the old Beast but comes back it doesn't stay turned over long.

I was putting together a disc order and I came across an old mold Champion Beast, very clear blue, 2 Time stamp, no weight markings but I have a gram scale for weighing discs. If there is a demand for the old mold Beasts, I can meet the demand up to one disc. If interested, let me know and I'll get out the gram scale.

How Much,
I've been scrambling to pick up old molds but refuse to pay a premium. I would rather switch discs than do that.

Good luck in selling this new version. It's not that it's a bad disc, it is just a disappointment compared to the Old Beast. For me, the Old Beast was the prerfect driver. It staid (pun intentended) flatter longer and I could work it where I wanted it. That is, it wasn't an exciting disc, just a reliable one. For some reason the New Beast flips hard on me. I don't even have this problem with the Valk although I can get the Sidewinder to flip the same way.
This kind of thing has made me seriously consider going to DC. The problem is that they don't have a Beast equivalent. The closest I've found is the Flash and it is significantly more stable for me.

Lyle, try the Avenger. 1st runs are a little more stable than 2nd runs. I haven't broken in my new Nate Doss signature discs yet, but so far, they are more like the 1st runs than the second ... or so it seems.
I think the 2nd runs are a little flippy, but I'm throwing lighter weights, so maybe it's just the weight. I need to try some heavier ones.
Z Avengers are more overstable, and I have yet to break one in to the point where I can flip it.
You can also try the Tracker. It's a great disc IMO. I've been throwing the Z's and they are sweet. Just got a couple of EliteX Trackers, but haven't had a chance to throw them long yet, so I can't comment on their flight yet.

Lyle,
I have a blue Barry Schultz Champion Beast (brand new, unthrown, and mint condition 169 g) that I'd be willing to trade to you if you want it.
If you're going to be at the Conroe event on 12/3 I'll bring it with me.
