Am I the only one who gets confused about this?

I mean how many molds are there? How many plastics?... Big Bead, Little Bead, JK Pro Aviar X, KC Pro, Classic Aviar, Aviar P&A, Proline, CFR ... where does it end? Do they all fly the same?

Did Discraft really buy an Aviar mold, re-tool, and call it the Challenger, or are they just similar? Is the Omega, soft Omega, and Q-Mega just another Aviar with Millennium plastics?

Can anyone shed some light on this ... I know it already on the forums but searching for "aviar" gets about 12000 hits and it's mostly trash.

It's time for the Definative Aviar Thread.

I know of three different molds, no bead, quarter bead, big bead. There has been many types of different dx plastic put into the aviar mold, hard, very soft, and everything in between. The Omega's are an aviar mold, quarter bead actually. The best aviars I ever used were the first ones, which were the no bead ones, I loved those for putting.

I have never tried a challenger. I always thought that it was the magnet and aviar that were similar, or is the aviar more overstable?

I'm not sure about the bead/beadless thing. I started with an old used aviar. Then bought a red aviar that was soft and gummy. When I ordered one from the Internet, I got something with a custom dragon stamp that was harder plastic; I used this for a long time. Then a friend gave me one that says aviar x on it.

I'm not sure that there was much difference between them, at least none that someone like me could tell. BTW, I had more bounce outs with the gummy aviar than the one with the dragon stamp.

It doesn't matter as I use a Wizard now.

Thanks!!!! That is exactly what I was searching for and couldn't find due to the sheer number of times that AVAIR is written on this forum.

((still trying not to bid on JK Avair X i found))
