Playing Doubles and playing with Club Members in my area I must say DG Players are among the best athletes when it comes to true sportsmanship.
I mean I have never ever been in another Sport where a competitor gets almost excited as you do after you make that great shot.

What a great atmosphere. I am sure there are a few a-holes here and there. But most of the DG Community seems to be about encouragement and support and wanting to see there fellow man enjoy the game as much as they do.

And as far as total passion about the game. I have played football, basketball, baseball, hockey, track and field, Bowling, racquetball,
hiking and climbing, skiing, stick Golf, ultimate, Biking, hunting and fishing, Soccer, softball, and just about every other streneous activity.

But honest to God I have never ever seen quite the level of Passion in any other athletes like I have seen in DG Players about their Sport.
Nada !! None not even by a country mile !!
(Long distance runners might be the closest)

I mean were are talking about people who eat, breathe, have sex and sleep Disc Golf.
Just curious has to how many offsprings have been conceived after a great Round of DG

I guess it all comes down to the easy accessibility, low cost, and the pure fun and challenge of it
: :D

There is a good question:

Which male/female super pro get's the most "action" on tour??

The Champ?

Oh oh !! We might be going somewhere where we shouldn't !!
But lets go there anyway
We can do it with some tact.

Ok,10 years ago in my wild days I played in a Southern Rock Band in Nashvegas for like 2 years. We had a CD (just private Label, nothing major)
but even for a no named band we still had groupies that didn't know any better that we were headed nowhere. I mean we had some major major debauchery going on in the Van we hauled part of our equipment in to gigs. :p

You guys ain't going to tell me its like that way on the PDGA Tour??

Come on guys I know you ain't Living like Rock stars are you ???

OK guys you share some stories and conversely I will share some of my wild ones. With discreetness of course. :D

I've heard a few stories but that's as far as I go...I don't need any Superpros calling me out to get my arse kicked.

"low cost".

Yes, that's the promise I was made when I started. 16 discs later I've begun to think it's not so cheap. : )
I'm a new player, 6 months now, I know 16 discs is extreme but I'm a disc ***** & like to see how different discs fly, plus 5 of those were found discs with no names. So it's my fault it got expensive ; )
However, I am narrowing down what I throw & am down to bringing 8 discs (4 of those putters).

But I agree with the original post. It's great to see other people just as excited when you make that magic shot / throw.
It's a game I dont mind losing to my friends (as long as it's an honest game).
Plus everyone I've met out on the course has always been friendly.
I was playing alone & couple guys caught up..... I told them to play through, "well why don't you just join us?" ...so I did. : )

And I don't consider "fishing" a sport.... :) This coming from someone who fishes as much as he disc golfs.

Let's say that it's very cheap to get into tournament play compared to other sports, and cheaper than most to play on a recreational basis.
