what are the rounds going to be for Open? no reds right.. blue, white, ian?

Chris, the rounds for open will most likely be blue, white, ian's, and blue for the final. If we were to go 21 hole rounds things might change.

Q-chef, please post the menu for the food. There are campers coming out this weekend for anyone that wants to get some practice in. Please call ahead if your coming out.

Aug 30 2005, 01:25 PM
I talked with Q-chef yesterday. He is working on the menu and will post it soon. Anyone who wishes to join our short list of illustrious sponsors please send me a PM. If I do not contact you...please talk to me. I am making an honest effort to raise enough funds to add back all players greens fees and more in addition to the required PDGA added monies for pro and amateur prize packages. Let's have some fun!

Ok players. Here is our chance to raise some funds for the rebuilding efforts for the entire Gulf Coast area damaged by Hurricane Katrina. We will donate all funds raised directly to the Habitat for Humanity's Gulf Coast Region. We will raise money through donations, a raffle, silent auction, and $1.00 of each entry fee at the Octoberfest. You can help in our effort by donating discs and other items to the raffle and silent auction. Please know that your participation in this effort is valualbe as organizations like Habitat for Humanity begin the rebuilding process in the Gulf Coast area. I have contacted Robert Schmidt at Habitat for Humanities headquarters and he will assist us with our "planned giving". To sign up and play just mail in the entry form that is the first post on the Octoberfest thread or use titledisc.com. If you wish to help or donate something for our efforts please call me at 512-914-4039. Thanks for your attention, D.Moody

So long as your rating is 914 or lower, get your confidence back in INT, you can always play MA1 the next tournament, if you do well.....

It would not be Octoberfest without refreshments. It looks like we will be hooked up by New Belgium Brewing Co. Put in your vote for Fat Tire, Sunshine Wheat, or any other NB product. We will also be getting some NB gifts for the raffle!

Make sure that we write your name/company on our list as we will include all that buy one on our sponsor board and will be mentioned in the players meeting and award ceremony.

Hello everybody, It's Qchef here with an announcement about the food at Octoberfest.

I am only cooking this time and I will make sure you guys and gals get the good grub you enjoy.
As usual, If you would like to reserve a meal or 3 meal pak, send me an e-mail to QTopDog13@aol.com or call me @ 512-796-4853.
You can get square with me on Saturday.

Here is the menu for Octoberfest weekend.

Saturday Lunches-$5 ea. Three to choose from:
1)Club Hoagie with Ham, Turkey, Bacon, American and Swiss cheese.
2)Grilled Chicken Salad Sandwich
Served with sides of pasta salad and fruit salad.
3)Grilled Chicken Pasta Salad Plate w/side of fruit salad.

Steak Nite Saturday-$15
A Wood Grilled Ribeye steak, I might also get NY strips.
A Mixed greens salad
Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Steamed Vegetable Medley
Chef's choice for Des(s)ert

Sunday Lunches-$5 ea.
1) Cheese burger w/ grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms or fire roasted jalapeos
2) Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich w/grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms or fire roasted jalapeos, Swiss or American cheese.
Both lunches include 2 Chef's Choice of side dishes and Chef's Choice Dessert.
All meals include a beverage of Ice Tea, Fruit Punch or Spring Water.

If you are interested in getting food, e-mail me or give me a call.
If it looks like the weather is going to be warm to hot and dry, I'm bringing the snowcone machine.
The lime squeezer and shaker are coming along too!
Any one bringing the Tito's?

Players please read the following and let me know how you feel: I had announced that we would raise money for Habitat for Humanity with our raffle and silent auction plus $1.00 of everyones entry. My contact from HFH has dropped the ball and did not send me the paperwork and promotional materials that were promised. We have another choice...Austin discgolfer and long time employee of mine Scot Furbee has been unable to work and has taken a big hit with Hospital bills this last week. He has no insurance. He is diabetic and is going through a tough time with it right now. Only with strong support from you all(the players) will I make the change. I know I am biased but think it would be nice to help a fellow golfer right here in our town. Please post your thoughts, send me a PM, or email concerning this.
Please bring something for the raffle and/or silent auction! So far we only have a few contributions. Sincerely, D.Moody

Javi and I finished in the dark with tom and bryce, we shot 53, they shot 55. I looked through the cards afterwards and saw the 48 (pretty good :p) and I think two 51s and another 53 (turbo/olse). Vinnie and Jimmy were still on the course with Rodriguez and his partner (division?) They were putting on sixteen as we drove off, in pitch black , so no telling how they finished.

Tight competition going into the finals, check the live scoring from the 3rd round. 9 holes to go with Vinnie Miller and Mike Olse tied in Open.

Congrats Mccaine on the Legendary comeback. I to would have prevailed had it not been for all those distractions and pop-up campers

Hey Bryan....Click PDGA Tour and then go to Octoberfest and click for scores, ratings by round, etc....

Bryan mis-use of words on Dave's part. He was just referring to the PDGA tour link. not a true live scoring link like the NT's have. Appears all ran smooth Dave. Congrats

Thanks CW. One more adjustment for par on Ian's course. It will be 56 not 54. I missed that when loaded the info. It will only change some over and under par numbers and will not affect the ratings or scores according to our coordinator. Thanks to Gary Duke for encouraging on how to use the PDGA site for uploading.

Thanks Dave and Staff --- the tournament was a huge success and a great time --- there's a reason why your tournaments always fill, Dave.

My only complaint of the weekend --- no, it was not having to play the first round on the same card with Sandalman (Pat Brenner), because, despite his on-line persona, he's a great guy to play disc golf with (he beat me by a stroke on our first round, btw) --- was the loooong break between rounds on Saturday.

For those who were camping at the Rock, it might not have been that big of a deal, as you could go sack out in your tent and you weren't in a rush to get out of there after the second round.

But that was really only a minor issue, and did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the weekend.

Does anybody remember ever seeing the water in the ponds as low as it was this weekend (which still didn't prevent me from throwing one disc into each pond during the third round)?

******************************
I hope the fund raising for Scott was a success, too. It's a good thing to be able to help one of our own. Which reminds me Dave --- I didn't collect my winnings from Doubles on Friday; please donate my share of the $$ to the charity.

Ya I drove down from Ft worth and got spot 89 of 90. This course had made my top 10 list for sure. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It was a blast to watch Vinnie and Olse tear those courses apart.

Great showing Vinnie. Your game was on all weekend, which was a good thing because Olse was shooting lights out too. Dave, that was the first event I have ever participated in at Red Rock and I will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks to you and your staff for a well run relaxed weekend of disc golf.

Tour link has scores but no payout?

Where's the payout Dave? thanks

Oct 03 2005, 02:49 PM
Thanks Robbie, Jim, RT, et al. Congrats to all the players and winners. CW, I'll get to the payout later. It was posted early and indepth at tournament central. I have to complete some more of the electronic TD report before I upload the payout to the PDGA tour deal. Vinnie recieved $420 for 1st...I remember that. James McCaine $145 for 1st in Masters and turned around and donated almost 1/2 of that to Furbee. Congrats Vinnie and James.

Oct 03 2005, 02:57 PM
Oh yeah, including all the donations I will be giving Scott $900.00 today. He was packing up stuff this morning getting ready to go up north for his surgery. He has asked me to thank you all for your donations large and small. He is humbled and grateful. Jerry V at Searight put out a tip jar at the clean up Sat and gave him that as well. Good discgolfers are you, pat yourselves on the back. Out.

Excellent James, way to go!!! And very nice of Jerry and all the South Side guys too. Plus I heard they got a lot of work done at Searight that day.

Waterloo club had been saving a spot for Scott, but since he won't be able to play and is going up north for surgery, we took that $50 for his spot and donated it to the cause.

That means Mark Wilson is off the waitlist and into Waterloo :D

It also means that Vinnie is now top of the list

Dave, as usual, Red Rock rocked.
Staff and course, and TD of course all rocked.
Wish you would have been at the table saturday night, Harry tried to stack the deck for the final round by feedin me JD.

Hah, didnt work did it Harry. You can talk the talk, but...

By the way, how come all of a sudden when the final 9 was over, YOUR walker grew wheels and poof you were gone.

I wouldnt have rubbed in in that bad. ;)

Great seein so many at the ranch, it was awesome. Takin the game to the rest of the candy stealin geezers was a gas.

Good round Richard. I was hoping you would cave but you hung in there. I think you were the only one not limping at the end. :D

Boy, I am going to miss Texas golf.

But will return for Red Rock action every chance I get.

Great seeing the Sandalman too.
Peace out dude. Bagger! :D

Vinnie, does ice come with those water jugs?

It is also awesome to see how we can come together to help one of our own. Hope Furbee can hurry back to being his old self. Get better buddy.

Dave, I'll see you at the park soon.

Metal, powder blue X2, the frogs jumped up and grabbed it in mid air. At least thats the way I remember it. :D
