Now i bought this disc when i first started out, not knowing any better, because i wanted a disc that would have an understable high speed turn for those difficult turning holes. now i liked it then, but i think it was mainly just because it was champion, and i felt cool.
Currently the disc i use on these shots is my beat pro TL because it just flys so much farther than the stingray. and the turn is not so dramatic.
im about to take it out of my bag because i have no use for it, but i figured i would give it a second chance and ask why some of you swear by it. it HAS to be good fr something, i just cant figure out what....
Once it is slightly beat, it is, IMO a great 200- 250' gental turnover disc.

Try throwing it hard with a hyzer release straight ahead...it should flip up to flat and ride most of its flight pretty straight. This is a very crutial shot if you ever wanna make it in Open.

I like this disc but...
There does seem to be seem some differenece
related to color and stability
I have a red 179 that is slightly less stable
than the yellow 174 that I have.
I use it for an easy anhyser at 200 to 250 feet
But thrown higher and with hyser it will flyer a nice s helix pattern up to 300-320 at about 70-80%.
I like it but not every disc fits everyones throwing style or eye.
Thats why there are so many made even by the same manufacturers.
D.P. :D

great for low ceiling shots and tight woods holes. you don't have to throw ity super hard to get a straight line, and the glide means it will keep going when other discs will start to fade.
I use a hyzer flip flat shot for the gauntlet at Hornet's Nest, one of the tightest off the tee gaps anywhere.
unfortunatly mines only a 150, which is probably why i cant get it to do anything. all of my discs are max weight, or close to it, and this disc is light, flimsy, and does not want to fly straight unless i throw it as gentle as possible. i guess i should just trade this for something else, or possibly just give it to someone.
would this be a good disc to learn how to do that hyzer flip with hough? ive never really tried it, although i think ive acidentally done it a few times...

Well that would be a good thing if you can throw it easy and make it Go Str8. That is learning to control the disc to make it do what you want it to.........just my .02 ;)
Plus 150 stuff Float's forever downwind.......... :D
i can make it go straight, but if i throw it just a tad too hard its soaring off to the side, and why risk it wheni have discs that can fly perfect without altering my form/throwing style. i prefer my MRV and Wasp for midranges anyway.
thats all im saying. if the 2 reasons people like this disc are only for anhyzers and shorter straight midrange shots, i dont need it in my bag. maybe ill put it back in if i ever develop a roller....

If it's too flippy it can hyzer flip right into a roller. A hyzer flip after all is just a hyzer that is turning over just enough to go straight, flippy discs can go all the way over.
