Is the Demon the same as the speed demon?
Totally different discs....... the only thing they have in common is that they're both highly overstable. The Demon is a smaller diameter midrange disc, while the Speed Demon is a large rimmed long range driver.

And Robbie forgot to mention the Demon is probably the best disc ever made. :DThe Speed Demon, well, they still make them so somebody out there must like them...

The demon gives INCREDIBLE skip. I can't throw it very far, but when I need a disc to go like 100 feet, then skip 100 feet left, it is THE disc. People compare it to a drone... Yes, it's overstable like a drone, but it skips SOOOOOO much better.

The Demon is my absolute favorite utility/specialty disc. I rarely throw it off the tee yet it's hard to imagine playing without it.

I find the same thing applies to the Speed Demon, except it's for when you want it to go 250' and then skip another 50' to the left and 50' forward. Actually, S Spirits do the same thing for me, too.
I find the Demon to be invaluable on shorter courses, especially if you throw sidearm at all.

Does the demon come in something other than S plastic? I have one and I think its completely useless. It definitely doesnt skip for me, its too busy burying itself into the ground like a lawn dart. The thing is wicked overstable with no glide at all. I'll stick to a whippet or wasp for my overstable midranges.

Thats what its supposed to do!!!
I can see where a Wasp is different, but a Demon is better than a Whippet for sure!

Try throwing it a little lower if you want a skip. I pretty much only use mine for forehand shots where I don't need a lot of distance and there's a headwind or a sharp right turn. I find that there are other discs out there that work better for hyzers.

After about 2 years of continuous use...they begin to glide nicely!
I cried the day my beat/gliding Demon got a puncture wound. I only have another year before the one I'm grooming now will glide.

The Demon will glide after some wear and tear, but you might look into a Blaze. I played 5 rounds total at Am Worlds with Matt Hall & Chris Boro, and they were parking holes all over the place with them. They are pretty sweet.
Not to mention, Devan Owens can throw them pretty for a 16 y/o :D

Totally...the Blaze flies a little faster and definatly had more glide. About the same resistance to turnover, but not nearly as much low speed deceleration. Go check one out!!

I was trying to stay on topic, but when I said that I was thinking specifically of the Blaze. I find they beat in faster and are in general much more useful than the Demon. I haven't tried the other manufacturers' equivalents, though.
I should also point out that the Blaze is a disc that grows on you rather than one that seems amazing right away. Once you figure it out it's incredibly predictable.

I have now fazed out my demon and replaced it with a beefy "E" blaze which is just as good into a headwind but I find it to be more versatile. By the way JohnE can boom a demon farther than most people can drive. :D

Yeah, its still a good disc off the shelf, but once you find shots for it, you will always want one in your bag!

We just ran Demons today for the first time all year RED, Yellow and 2 different Oranges.
One of the runs of orange seems to be similiar to the old G6i, which were a lot less overstable.
The rim is a little puffy and there is a little dome to the top.
Havent had a chance to throw any as it was raining most of the day.
Dont be afraid to flex up the Gateway "S" plastic if they are too overstable for your power.
Sometimes it may take several direct shots into a tree if you want a demon to fly flat.

David:
After you throw the G6ish ones, tell me how they compare stability wise to both the old ones and an ElementX.
