we are fortunate to have a well established course and a good relationship with city rec and parks here at druid hill. we've helped the city out with some disc golf clinics for inner city youth and they've returned the favor by donating o's tix and other prizes for ctp's at our weekly (thursday night triples).

their rep recently asked me how else they could help us out. i suggested a few new benches and a replacement for our kiosk. he came back to me and asked me to submit a proposal for that.

does anyone have a format for this sort of thing? everything i've seen on here involves kowtowing to pitch a new course. i'm just looking for some sort of format of an improvement proposal that might save me some time creating one.

please pm me if you might be able to help.

Here's a great link to various proposal templates over on Microsoft... from everybody's buddy Bill Gates...
There's 3 pages of different one's most of 'em require a Microsoft office program of one sort or another, there should be one easily adaptable then... good luck!!
Proposal templates search (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/results.aspx?Scope=TC&Query=proposal)

Try emailing Santie Claus if they turn you down... OH yeah and be good, that's the hard part there... :o

I think generically a proposal would include the following:

What it is you want
Who the improvements will serve
How much the improvements will cost
Is there any outside money involved (matching funds, fundraising, etc.)
Who will make the improvements and do the upkeep

Stuff of that nature. If the city has a particular format, as the parks and rec guy for it. Otherwise, the format generally isn't as important as the information it contains. Remember the mantra Keep It Short Stupid (KISS for short). That's my two cents from experience pitching budgets for programs/events and grant writing.

Nice kiss huh... I'll have to remember that
In my case "keep it stupid shorty"...
Loved the initial reference to kowTowing... had to go to webster.com for that one... "To kneel and touch the forehead to the ground in expression of deep respect, worship, or submission"
Ohhhhhmmmmmm...... ohhhhhhmmmmm ohmmmm... while they are distracted by the chanting take the money and run.... !! See ya suckers.
YEah keep it simple... maybe your guy on the parks want's to do the formal proposal version himself... makes him look good. So just the basic's is probably best.
I think the chanting is really only required for long putts!
