This post is to notify the disc golf community of yet another loss. Tex passed away at work on Tuesday this week. Tex introduced discgolf to new players every year. Some may remember his "hundred holes of hell" tournaments that he ran. He also staffed many events for Mr. Houck...such as Worlds Biggest weekends, States, and the Worlds Championships at Port Arthur. Tex was my doubles partner for Nat'l Doubles in the early to mid 90's. Tex and his dog Zrappi sp? were a fixture at Austin's courses and around town. I thank Tex for many good times golfin' and for turning me on to my first PDGA tournament play. Rest in peace Tex.
Check the obits on Friday. He will have a viewing on Friday evening and service on Saturday this week.

I hadn't seen Tex in a long, long time. The only sign I had of him came through a friend that used to gets loads of aviars and san marino rocs at garage sales. Turns out it was Tex. My freind and I would talk about what a good guy he was.

I didn't know him real well, but he seemed like the rare type that was always friendly and smiling. The kind of person everyone would like and admire. May he rest in peace and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

Wow, another blow to our family. :( My thoughts and best wishes go out to Tex's family and friends.

He is now re-united with Father Dave and Jim Mozola, what a great card for a round of disc golf.

This is sad news indeed. Tex's name came up Saturday night at Dave's memorial. Since he moved to Austin we didn't get many opportunitys to see him. Definately the nicest guy you would want to meet, and definately to young not to be with us anymore.

Dave, if you get any info about times for the Saturday service could you please post them here. I'll be in Blanco on Saturday and may be able to attend if the timing works out.
Thanks.

Tex was an old school player, I remember him from way back. You need to add Thomas Bertrain to the foursome in the sky.

All services will be held at Cook Walden Funeral Home on North Lamar Blvd. Friday evening there will be a viewing from 6-8pm. Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm there will be a service followed by a reception at his house. Please check the obits in Fridays paper. For those in Houston there will be a service next Tuesday at his families church in Pasadena, this info will also be in the obits.

RIP

When my buddy, Joey, passed a few years ago, when we sent him on his way with nice flydyed driver... Later we realized, he probably was going to need a putter too :)

Heres too thoughts and dreams of reuniting with our friends to play the greatest courses imaginable.
