I took a month off from playing because of a foot injury but got back out on the Hoover/Hambrick course early Saturday morning. I was amazed at how much damage had occurred to the trees on the course over that month. I don't know whether the recent BHMO had much to do with it, but in any event, I was truly dismayed to see how many limbs had been chopped back, broken off, etc. It is a real shame. The character of the the course has been affected by this recent and rampant destruction. I have been playing the course nearly every week for four or five years now, and have never seen it change so quickly. :(
After a couple of weeks of vacation I once again returned to the course to find that even more limbs had been downed. The course seems to be undergoing a "dumbing down" on many holes. For a quick and particularly jolting example, look what has happened to the large pine tree that used to guard the center of the fairway on hole #11 -- it has been stripped of all limbs up to 4 or 5 feet from the ground. Aaarrgghh!
I'm curious as to whether these changes have been wrought by the Columbus Flyers, the Parks people, or perhaps a disaffected group of deranged beavers...

The columbus flyers have taken initiative to help clean up there course and make it a fairer truer disc golf course. I play hoover it seems like every couple of months and have seen nothing bad happen at the course. Hole #11 you pointed out. Two months ago from the long tee you couldn't get a safe or decent drive off without almost foot faulting off the tee because the overgrowth. Once they trimmed you had a true gap you could hit, now whether you wanted to throw safe or go for the pin is another story.

Go to www.columbusdiscgolf.com (http://www.columbusdiscgolf.com) and bring up the issues and the golfers might be able to tell you more, and it is a place where your concerns might be answered.

My mistake I was thinking hole 12, Not hole 11.
