Anyone thrown the new 2x beast.I know its a retool but I looked at one today and it looks more like the quater K was supposed to than the quater K itself.I am referring to the almost convex lip on the underside.was wondering how they fly.

Ugh!
Looks like I will have to stock up on the 1X beast. Because the QK was a flop. It did not fly any better then a flat top Beast. Just flipped over really easy, and the plastic was crud.
I am curious as to how people will respond to a rim like you described.
I am off to buy Beasts!

I have a 2x beast 167 and have thrown it a few times already. For me, being lhfh, it flies straight as hell with it being kind of overstable at the end of the flight, when i put some power and snap behind it. For me this disc is perfect (finally found something that flies straight for me).

Did I get the only two overstable Quarter Ks produced? I have two 165 QKs that fly farther than anything I throw. Not even a little bit flippy even at those light weights.
I agree, my Quarter K's are not flippy at all, but I can turn them over if I throw them really hard. Usually though they just fly straight.. if I could just get comfortable with the grip on it.
I will definitely pick up one of the new Beasts. I am hoping the new beasts are more like the first runs that were flatter on the top.

I've had a new Beast (Champion 175) for over a month now, and have had a fair amount of time to test it out. Just today I picked up a DX new Beast 168, yellow. I have really enjoyed the Champion version, it is my turnover driver of choice, I can roll it, but have been using the Sidewinder for rollers for the most part. The Champion Beast started out fairly stable, like a beat in COrc, but that could have just been my newbie throws with it. It's now a slow late turner. I throw it with plenty of hyzer and get long slow turnover shots. If I throw it high enough it will turn over and then slowly fade out. I get some crazy distance with it. It is my driver of choice for long uphill shots. It was quite awesome on hole 7 at Nockamixon and hole 11 14 and 15 at Little Lehigh. I also threw it on hole 17 at Little Lehigh (567 down a big hill, righty hyzer) I threw it (lefty) out flat with hyzer and it would flip over into a roll, and roll down to the basket from a good 275 feet away.
The Champion version was my disc of choice for the distance competition, it has been outdistancing my orcs and starfires. But I threw it a little too low in the competition, I only brought the one.
The DX version has been sweet. My first throw today was on Winthrop Lakefront hole 10, 367 across the water (the last shot of the Hole 5 at the USDGC), I threw it to the next teepad, about 80 feet past the basket (It was just an experiment shot, I had already pinned the basket).
After the round, I said I wanted to see if I could throw it over the lake (never gotten one across before). Johnny Mac bet my lunch that I couldn't do it. I threw high right with a lot of hyzer (probably 12 degrees or so) and it turned over up high and glided a long way before hyzering out and landing 15 feet from the shore... in the grass :)
So I asked if Johnny wanted to go double or nothing with my Champion Beast. He said sure. Same shot, same flex, I lost site but the guys said it turned over even more, but got across with 20 feet to spare on a wider part of the lake.
So the new Beast is the first and only mold that I've been able to clear the lake with. I really like these discs, and when I take some power off them they have a ton of glide. I'm hooked. They fill a void in my bag that the Leopard was trying to fill. Both discs are in there now, and I added the DX Beast for fun. The DX goes really far, it could definitely conquer the distance record if thrown right.

I spoke to the champ and he said they gave the new beasts a L bottom

yes, definitely an L bottom, and a flight to go with it. I think it does a good job of distancing the Beast from the Orc. The original was very similar to the Orc and was a bit of an overlap imho. For that reason I haven't had a Beast in my bag since the Orc came out, the Orc was just a better Beast for me... now I have both as they both do very different things well.
Maybe you can help me out. I used to carry Ch. Valk.s Ch Beasts and Ch. Orcs but did away with Beasts because of the overlap. Now I am thinking of adding a Ch. Beast back in (and maybe just carrying my very broken in CE Valk for turnovers... The old Beast had a lot of fade. Has the fade changed more than the hi-speed stability?
Congrats on clearing the lake. That's a big throw.

I never really thought they were close. For me the orc is longer and a little more overstable while the beast turns over easier and has a more erratic flight path.

So the new Beast is even more understable then the 1x? Wouldn't that overlap now with the Valk? I already pulled the Valk out of my bag because the 1x Beast was flippy, and if I put it out flat or with anni I could make it do what a valk normally does.
The Beast was a great disc, a great hyzer flip long driver. Why did they mess with it?

I found the new Beast to be a little more "go where you throw it" disc. I was surprized at how stable it was for having such a straight/convex wing.

Someone told me Barry didn't want his signature on the L version of this disc... any validity?
