Yeah, Wednesday I am going on vacation down to Ft.Walton Beach,FL.

Was wondering about the 7 Courses in Mobile, AL. ??
Are they spread out or close together and easy to find ??
And which ones are the best ones ?? Is it worth the trip to drive over from Ft. Walton Beach for a day ??
Could I get all 7 courses in on one full day?? If not which ones are a must if I had to choose ??

Also, on the way back I am wondering if it will be worth it to stop off at Montgomery and Birmingham to play these Courses ??

Thanks for any suggestions !!!!

I played 6 of the 7 while vacationing through there (I don't think South Alabama existed at the time, or least I was unaware of it), and can pass along the following:

* I had no trouble finding any of the courses, and little trouble finding my way around them.

* Fairhope and Citronelle are a little way out of town. The others 4 are reasonably close to each other.

* A lot depends on your taste in courses. Cottage Hill and Chickasabouge are very tight courses through dense woods. I personally don't enjoy this, but folks I talked to down there thought these were the best.

* Fairhope is mixed open and woods; Langham is in a city park with more room to air it out (grassy fairways and large trees, but little underbrush). Chickasaw is short, hilly, with a couple of creeks; I found it least challenging but most fun.

* George Ward, in Birmingham, is definately worth the stop on your way through.

Don't know if you can play all of Mobile in a day, but give it a shot---if nothing else, you'll find good variety and lots of holes relatively close to each other.
