Does anyone see the day when disc golf might have four or five major tournaments per year like ball golf, horse racing or tennis?
If so, which tournaments would they be? I'm thinking the Worlds and USDGC obviously but what other tournaments would complete the group?
What is the longest running tournament on the NT?

marshall street is well on its way too. the memorial is likely the highest profile nt currently.

With about 65 listed Major, National Tour & A - Tier events on the 2005 schedule, when do we start diluting the quality/showcase of our premier events?
100?
200?
30?

I think the dilution has already started. The only good thing about that is it means the sport is growing rapidly. :)
The 4 majors I was referring to were for open single divisions. Like all the talk about Tiger Woods eventually beating Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 majors. In comparision, you hear about Climo's 11 world championships. But if you wanted to highlight four or five tournaments every year as the cream of the crop, which ones would you pick?
Originally, I was thinking of some European championships to go with the Worlds and USDGC. But the Players Cup looks like it could be a major deal this November. Then you have the Memorial or the Masters Cup to finish the group. The player that wins most of the four or five could be the Player of the Year. Then you could even have a Skins match for the 4 or 5 champions every year. Think of the possibilities . . .
