Check out www.discgolfreview.com (http://www.discgolfreview.com) for a good description of each technique. ;)

Reach back for drives of any distance (back down discs for holes under 400ft).

Bent elbow for stand still approach shots under 250ft, usually because the bent elbow will add more spin to the disc for me and keep it straighter longer without fading to early.

Reach back for Annyz. Bent elbow for anything else. My grip is way different from anyone elses I have seen. I usually have one finger under the lip and one finger on the concave portion of the lip with the rest of the fingers fanned and not really doing anything.

I don't think about it while I'm throwing, but I really don't think I reach back as far as I can so I must be throwing with a bent elbow. I concentrate more on getting my shoulders rotated and orienting the disc the way I want it than how straight my arm is. Perhaps when my muscle memory is better I may experiment with a full reach back.

hmm.. I reach back, but not straight back. I bend my elbow, but only slightly. I really don't think about the reach back all that much when I am throwing - I tend to focus more on the snap/angle of release.

I use a combination of both, effective for me, but haven't seen anyone else use my style

i mainly use a bent elbow
on shorter drives i dont reach back that much at all
on longer drives i reach back almost to a full extension
