Any predictions on the future of our sport? Which junior disc golfer will win JR. Worlds?
Texas has some great youngsters. Look for them near the top.
One darkhorse to keep your eye on will be 15 year old Ike Eaker. He's only been playing for 12 months, but watch where he finishes. Even my 16 month old son has a lower pdga # than Ike. :)
Let's not forget about Chris Brooks of West Texas. He already has a few World Championships under his YOUNG belt!
Go youngsters!!!!!
Chris Edwards from Santa Cruz, IF he can keep his head out of his way and make all of the short putts.
He would be our (SC) 3rd Jr world Champ in about 5 years. :D

16 and under - My pick will have to be Devan Owens (not registered yet but will be). He has been laying waste to some solid advanced fields in Oklahoma and in the mid-states. His 924 rating is a joke as he's averaged well over 960 golf this year.
19 and under - Matt Hall if he plays here w/o question b/c he will be a favorite in advanced too! I guess that one is up to him and Gateway!

Linus is from Skelleftea Sweden. I am friends with his family and got to see him play when I was in Sweden. He is 15 and has some sort of distance record. He also won a putting contest when I was there. He was in DGWN, maybe winter 2004. He is an amazing player and I would put my money on him. Here are a few links.

Thanks Jeannie,
I just learned two things.
1. The Swedes do a great write-up on their events.
2. The 19 and under players are going to need a blanky to comfort them when Linus waxes them like a new floor.

it is more than mildly disturbing that a guy who has a fat man dancing avatar is looking for a junior top.

You're welcome. If everything goes as planned, I might be going to Sweden in a couple of weeks, and will definately see them if I do. The whole family plays, with the exception of Mom. She's follows along making sure they all have what they need. Emelie is 21 and probably would have won advanced if she didn't have to unfortunately change her plans and stay in Sweden. I think Dad is playing Advanced Masters (although i don't see him on the list), and brother Oscar will be playing Pro-Worlds if plans haven't changed since we last spoke. They are a great family and I can't wait to see them again.

Under 16 will have to watch Devan Owens and Justin Bougher from tulsa both very solid if Devan gets his stuff in

Matt,
You won't be playing anything if you don't turn in your entry form!!!
Good job on Mid-Natties.

I'm going to have to go with the Connecticut boys, Kriewald (19 and under) and Steinert-Threlkeld (16 and under), just cuz they're New Englanders.

what are you talkin about? who's lucky? You will dominate that division too.
The Little Headed One C. Wood is my early favorite...NC may have a sweep this year in the men's divisions...

And we can throw a disc or two lol
I'm gunning for the <16 title with a passion; Devan Owens would be a lot of fun to compete with (we're both Gateway) if he registers

Okay...so i said to watch a young Texan known as Ike Eaker. There might be a problem. Ike wears flip flops to the course. Then he kicks them off before he throws his drives/upshots/putts.
I said "Ike, what are you going to do at World's when you HAVE to wear foot protection?"
He said "Do i really have to keep my shoes on the whole time?"
Little Ike swears that he has better balance and feel when barefoot!!!!!!
He needs to get with Sandalman and get some of those bad aszs hiking sandals.

David Wiggins will win the under 13 division fo sure. He would probably win under 16 if he played that divison. The kid is unreal.
Wins worlds last year by 99 strokes.
Holds two worlds distance records( Set the record this year at i believe 325ft.)
And at a C tier here in very competive NC this summer would have finished 3rd ind adv!!!!
I waiting for someone to call him a bagger.
Pros watch out :D
Does anyone else have a problem with this topic? Not the topic, so much as the wording..."JR. World's, who will end up on top?" I think it might be better to say, "Junior Worlds: Who will win?"

Yes congrats to all of the JR's. Our 15 y/o Texan, Ike Eaker finished 8th in his division. Not a bad finish for the first time golfing in shoes! No really, it was his first time to play disc golf in shoes. He plays barefoot at the local park, and local minis.

Justin Bougher and Devan Owens...there practically joined at the hip, best friends who push each other to get better.
Plus, they get to play against a tough advanced field regularly here in Tulsa...not to mention they get frequent tips from Oklahoma legend Kevin McCoy, Arkie stud Aleksey Boobs and long bomber Coda Hatfield.
Watch out for these 2.
