I am a 27 year old male, who has been playing disc golf for about three months. I am looking for an experienced disc golf player with good technique who wouldn't mind letting me tag a long for a few rounds and ask questions. I mostly throw RHBH. I am in the SW Portland area so the "Lunchtime" course would be ideal for me but I can also make it out to Orchard or Pier Park.

If anybody is interested let me just give a thanks in advance,
Asimo

You should try odsa.com (it's down right now, but that is probably temporary). There are lots of Open players in Portland that would probably let you tag along.

I play mediocre Open, and I'll shoot a round with you at Dabney. You can send me a PM.

Also, Jerry "Mentor" Miller is a very good resource for new players. He runs Disc Golf Depot, and his telephone number is on the odsa.com site when you click the link to Disg Golf Depot on the front page. Good luck!

I don't know if you are planning on travelling to WA for a tournament but ever since Dave Feldberg helped my putting I try to teach people what I know. So look for me practicing putting and putt at the same basket. If you push putt, I will proabally just naturally start pointing out something. Good luck, practice as much as possible.

asimo,
Go play at some of the harder courses (McIver/Riverbend, Dabney, Pier, etc.) on the weekends and look for some good players. Just walk up, introduce yourself and ask for help!

P.S.> There are a lot of players who aren't pros but who can be great teachers. Just because someone plays pro doesn't mean they are the best source for help!

P.S.S.> Dave and Avery are 1000+ rated players and are very helpful if you catch them when they have free time (i.e. not 5 minutes before tee-off).

Jerry at Disc Golf Depot is the real deal. If you are in Portland or anywhere close, this is the guy you should be buying all your discs from. He has the best prices and an unmatched knowledge of the game.

He spent two hours with me. I showed up at his place after making an appointment and he helped me buy the right discs. Then we jumped in my car and drove to the local course for a most educational round.

If you are new to disc golf and looking to improve, an experience player who needs a brush up, or just looking for the best deal on discs and accessories, Jerry at Disc Golf Depot is the guy you gotta hook up with. You can find his web page by going to www.odsa.com (http://www.odsa.com) and clicking on the link.

Sincerely,
Asimo

Glad things worked out for you! Jerry has helped a lot of Portlanders learn the game. Hopefully we'll see you out at some of the weekly tourneys!
