So next week I'm gonna do a trip to the mainland (I live in Hawaii). I'm staying in Portland from the 2nd to the 5th, and then we're driving to Bozeman Montana for my girlfriend's family reunion. For me, any trip to the mainland turns into a disc golf trip, and I love hitting up new courses, so....

1) I played Pier Park and the Lunctime Course last month. They were really fun (especially Pier Park). Are there any other courses within a hour radius of Portland that I NEED to play, or should I just stick to Pier Park again??? I see lots of courses listed on the directory, but since my time is limited, I want to play the best courses.

2) I'm assuming that we're driving the southern route to Montana. Looks like we go through Boise & other scenic parts of Idaho. Are there any courses along the way that I NEED to play or SHOULD play???. Also, I saw a course on the directory in Bozeman which is really close to where I'm staying. Any word on that course???

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Must plays in Southern Idaho, all courses close to I-84 (E-W) and I-15 (N-S).

Boise, Ann Morrison Park. Beautiful park, flat, but challenging when set in long positions. Water in play on 1/2 the holes.

Rupert, Lake Walcott State Park. WPA era park with great 18 hole layout. About 15 miles north of I-84, $4 park entry fee per car. Good place to camp.

Pocatello, Bengal Ridge. Difficult course on hillside. Bring water. Just off I-15.

Blackfoot, Jensen Grove. Short, 9 holer. Right next to I-15. Lots of places to eat and gas up right by the course.

Idaho Falls, Freeman Park. Another beautiful park course on the banks of the Snake River. Not far from I-15. Hotels close by.

Call me when you are in Eastern Idaho and we can hook up and play some. Phone numbers in PM.

Dabney & Milo McIver are both well worth your time.

I agree. Pocotello's Bengal Ridge is a MUST play. It is definately not for woosies, though. Try to hit it when it is a cool day. Best course ever played. I played it with a man from Wisconsin. He got a 2 over and I got a 6 over.

Walcott Park is another MUST, but bring mosquito repellent.

So I'm going to Lincoln City on the 3rd. On our way back to Portland on the 4th, It looks like we'll be driving by Wortman Park in McMinnville and Champoeg Park in Newberg.

Not sure if I'll get to play both of those courses, but if I had to choose one or the other, which course should be my 1st priority???
