There's two questions if by chance the two answers might be different for whatever reason.

Did that make sense?

I putt with a small bead Classic Aviar.
My Favorite Putter is a 3x JK Aviar-x, but it's really tough to pushputt one of them so i only use it for drives/approaches.

I've used almost every putter known to man and have finally decided on 160g Wizards. They seem to be the most controlable of all of them, and have a great grip.

I putt with one of the new Cam Todd Challengers.
I throw X APX's, D Challengers, 1st run X Challengers and the Super Puppy!
But my favorite is probably the 1st run Q Omega in the old CE plastic. You can do anything with them including driving 300'.

My putter is a soft 174g Red Wizard.
My favorite though is white a little more firm and only weighs 172g it is like Magic. ( no wait, thats the name for our new beadless Wizard)Anyway,
Ive made more 40-80 footers with this thing than I have 30 footers with my red putter.
Hopefully one day my actual putter will become my Favorite!

Challengers!

I have three in the bag.

Crystal Challenger for approach.
Pro D Challenger for basic/general putts.
CT Challenger for head wind or left hook putts.

My favorite is the Pro D.

86 Mold Softie. I've been using these since '88, they work great for just about any shot less than 200' (tough to make them do a spike hyzer though). They are kind of stiff, but not too hard to make them bounce off of the chains. Big advantage when you can use a slower disc for your second shot on those long holes that are over 600'.

Jun 26 2005, 02:56 PM
The Aviar Putt & Approach works best for me. If I way out, however, I'll use a Champ. Rhyno and call it an upshot if I miss.

My favorite putter is whatever one I can get to go in the basket - which happens to also be the Aviar P&A.

Jun 27 2005, 11:47 AM
I started with an Aviar with a Dragon print on it, not sure what model. It seems a bit harder plastic than most Aviars.

Recently, I tried an elite Z Putt'r because it went straighter for me, but it was not good in the wind and had many bounce outs.

At the moment, I'm using an old Magnet that I had in my closet for some reason. It seems to work well in the wind.

The only other putter I've tried was a Birdie; I didn't care for it.
I may have to try out challengers, apx's, and this wizard thing y'all keep mentioning.

Jun 27 2005, 11:47 AM
I putt with Wizards now but my favorite is the X-Putt'r. It just doesn't work in the wind as well as I'd like.

SS Wizards are my favorites.

I've started putting with an Aviar P&A because it's not as overstable and easier for me to control. I'm excited to try out the Magic (beadless Wizard) as soon as it comes out and I'll probably switch to that for my regular putter because I like the way the Wizards feel in my hand more than any disc.

I use a firm Wizard for most any approach within 320'.

Blue APX Swirls, max weight.

I have about 8 of these babies, in various stages of beatness. 6 of them are in kept in the backyard for putting practice, but only two are still tournament ready. I just received two new ones from Ebay this week, but as they are now discontinued, need to snap up a few more if I can find them.

Pro D Challenger, max weight.

Just started throwing the Pro D Challenger, more for a longer approach putter than for shorter putts, but have found it to be a pretty good putter as well.

I couldn't agree more!!!! Listen to the Rooster, he knows!!!!! I started stocking up 2-3 months ago when i heard of their fate. Close to 20 new ones, and too many used one's to even mention.

I'm curious about the new "soft APX's" that will be replacing the Swirls in 2-3 weeks. The reason i like the blue ones is b/c they seem quite a bit stiffer than the others.

Blowfly - well used.

I've had it hit the edge of the basket and wrap itself up and in. Doesn't skip far away if you miss, doesn't crash out hard, and will do some amazing things around the basket.

Jun 29 2005, 02:42 AM
I know it's me and not the discs, but I just can't seem to settle on a putter. I was really trying to make another run at the Aviar family (mostly Omegas, hard and soft), but they almost fly too well for me. So...

I'm using Classic Rocs for tight line or straight-shot upshots. I use a Bulldog for wind and when I have the room to run at the basket w/a "dump" shot.

To actually putt, I'm back to Rhynos. Proline. Least blowby. I miss a lot.

I putt with an old Soft Glow "S" Wizard when my Soft "Blackie" is too tacky.

BUT, my favorite is definatly old G9is...stiff as hell and just as overstable...best off the tee hands down!! Too bad I'm down to just the one in my bag and one spare!

Jul 03 2005, 10:14 PM
My favorite putter would have to be the one that I putt with. That would be a pro challenger. I like the stiffness because when you play in over 100 degree weather a soft challenger is WAY too floppy to even be used, yet a pro challenger becomes slightly flexible and a little grippier therefore it is excellent for putting at this time. I mainly use the challenger for a modified hyzer putt where I throw flat and the challenger ends up fading out at the end, a very consistent type of putt. The challenger is at its prime when used like this. I also like the challenger with the ammount of wind that I play in. I got tired of the flippy roller rattler in the wind so Ijust stuck with this and got good results try one today!

Jul 03 2005, 10:55 PM
i have 3 soft challengers in the bag, with their hot stamps removed, if that makes a difference...i love em...more predictable than the old stand by aviar and the plastic is sweet...i use a crystalchallenger for approaches , but i must admit it is still just a little too stable , even after a year of use...thinking of gogint back to my original CE omega for approaches, but ive only got one and dont want to buy a back up

I like the 20th year Aviar in the Gold Plastic.
