This may sound a bit silly, but I just wanted to report that I tried wearing a ball cap made of CoolMax material today, and was amazed at how nice it was. I always wear a ball cap when I play (I have several Ohio State caps and a few Battelle caps), but in the summer, they tend to get really soaked with sweat after I have been on the course for a while.
A couple of days ago they were selling caps made of CoolMax where I work, so I thought it might be worth a try. This morning was the hottest morning I have played in quite some time, and I was amazed at how comfortable the new cap was. It was great!
Just a little thing, but it kept me more comfortable, and was one less distraction for my game. Those in hot climates who like to wear a cap might want to check it out.
Anything is better than an Ohio State hat. :DBig Ten RULES!

Yea.................a San Diego Padres Hat !!!!!!!
I like wearing caps, but I found that they didn't give me enough protection. So I went to a wide-rimmed hat purchased at a birding store with a draw string for windy days (I later saw them at Academy for much cheaper). It is sometimes uncomfortable, but after the last sunburn, I am seldom without it.
And, it's not a sillly question at all, at least not in this climate.

Black Innova Visor......
They were out of Discraft Visors
I was looking at some coolmax hats yesterday at Academy. I'm still worried they don't shield the sun enough, especially from my ears.
Do any of the disc companies make a coolmax hat? I did by an undergear shirt with coolmax. Haven't taken it out in the sun, but it's very comfortable. Feels like being naked but without the annoying police calls.
This might be what you are lookin for Coolmax Kayaking Hat (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/baygear/lanendkaycoo.html)
That is what I'm looking for; seems a little pricey, though.

I figured this would of been a bixby thread, but I was mistaken

Yeah I thought they were a little pricey as well, however one bad burn and a case of crispy red ears could probably get me to invest in one.

Whatever happened to Bixby, I need a good chuckle every now and then :)
Before I bought my hat, I had a crispy, peeling bald head....Now, I have a dedicated hat. That way I remember to put on my "disc hat" before I throw.
is it the one in your avatar, Hank?
no, that one is to hot for frisbee....
I have one of these hats (http://www.kavu.com/index.php?SCREEN=item&department=4&item=581&clog=OTdnYWpsdHI3ZA==). It folds up small so it fits in the side pocket of my disc bag. Stay pretty cool. It covers my big ears and my balding head.

That's not a hat, that's a lid.
This is a hat! (http://www.sierratradingpost.com/product_view_full_img.asp?s7=true&product_name=Stetson+Pennsylvania+Straw+Hat+(For+M en+and+Women)&colorname=LIGHT%20BROWN&base_no=56935_12)
I read this thread when it was first posted, and thought the sound of a CoolMax hat was great, and made me want one. About 1 week later I play in a charity ball golf tournament and they are giving away hats w/ the foundation on them, and they are CoolMax! I was stoked to try the hat out in Kansas City heat and humidity, and I must say I'm really impressed with it. So impressed that I'm looking for T-shirts made out of this type of material to play golf in as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions for clothing that does the same thing as my CoolMax hat does? Online retailers etc.?
Thanks!
Dennis

Go to Wal-Mart. They carry Starter Dri-Star ($8.00 per) and Russell Jerzees Move shirts ($4.47 per) that have moisture transfer technology. They work great.

Pretty much any maker's soccer or tennis shirts have moisture-management fiber technology these days. I like the Nike Total90 dual-layer soccer jerseys, myself. A little pricey, but worth it.
That is a hat! Makes me wanna whistle a Kid Rock song. As for coolmax, I just bought an undergear shirt from academy. It's great! Like being naked without the annoying cop calls. A tad pricey though, I could only buy one. If I buy one every paycheck, I should be okay. :D
Oh, I was told Target carries some kind of copy. I think as long as it has the coolmax technology, it's the same thing.
