I just looked at DGLO pre-reg and saw both of them signed up. Thats cool. It also looks like Cam & Leslie got married?

Not cool. Babe Ruth didn't get along with his teammates, but he was still a great player.

i wonder how they will play, ron seemed to struggle somewhat at cross canyon (in relation to his normal game). i haven't heard of anyone seeing cam on the course anywhere in charlotte.

Ron told me in Augusta earlier this month he was still focusing on his roofing business but would play a few events this year.

I dont have any experience with Russel, but I have at least met and played with Cam before and obviously sure he has had his bad moments. I think a lot of us have carried ourselves in a poor way doing something sometime in our lives. Hopefully everything will work out and really from what I have seen Cam is generally a nice guy, of course we are all entitled to our opinion. I just cant see labeling someone a loser or along those lines based on a few bad choices in ones life.

I'm sure they are not back on the road, and the reason for playing this is thier sponsership and ties with Discraft.

I know Cam and Leslie use to read the board, and if they do, congrats on the marriage and good luck!!

They really are nice people...

Cam is a nice guy if you are off the course and he's played at least a decent round. I don't know if he's a jerk or whatever after a bad round. I tend to shy away from golfers who have played bad for the sake of not bringing up the round. Cam is a nice guy off the course. but i've played with him a couple of times and he's just a guy that is focused and doesn't talk during the round.

Met Cam and Lesli at the MSDGC last year, they both were really cool, im a young kid (18) and they were talking about how they liked players starting younger, and gave me a bunch of tips on improving my game, and how to make it as pro, the game tips have helped a TON, and after worlds this year we'll c how they helped the pro aspect.

I played with Ron at DGLO and all I can say is he was great to play with. He didn't play at all up to his standardss but he has started to move on from disc golf an doesn't play much any more. All in all I liked playing with him and hope he has success in his new career.

Jul 04 2005, 02:16 PM
I dont know about playing with Ron, but he seen that i had an innova bag and instantly was rude about it saying that innova sucked and blah blah blah, he continued to bad mouth them. So my first opinion on him wasnt the best. He can continue to hate innova all he wants, he's just mad because most world contenders throw innova and it takes away from his spotlight, and thats why i believe he isnt shooting as much anymore IMO.

And even if he did, whats it matter to you? Are you an Innova employee? Are you sponsored? I doubt he said it in the first place, but even if he did, lighten up...Innova is NOT disc golf, Innova is a disc golf company.

When are you guys going to realize its the PLAYA not the PLASTIC!?!?!?

I could throw Innova and play just as well I just CHOOSE to throw Discraft because I like it more. The ranking and winnings would be the same if EVERYONE had to throw the opposite brand as they are throwing now for a year :D

You have a hard time believing what? he would bad mouth the company he is competing with? yah that is hard to believe....i mean why would he talk bad about a company that has beaten him year after year???

and dg pimpin i know its not the manufacturer......its the fact that just because i was using innova he had to bad mouth it, i dont bad mouth the manufacturer.....i bad mouth the shooters negative words towards the manufacturer.....

to all who dont believe i can have my own opinon......the fact is hes an [I'm a potty-mouth!] and i would never hate on discraft just because i throw innova. As a disc golfer we all have our own choices on which we throw, so why bad mouth it because one person throws it???? The fact is that Ron Russell is a dickfore and thats IMO. I wasnt asking for an argument from anyone i was simply stating my opinon, Thats All

Thats easy....

It takes 1 camera that doesnt have to move and 1 grandstand for the public to sit in..

Proper coverage of a Disc Golf event takes MULTIPLE cameras, both stationary and mobile. Logistically it doesnt "compute" for ESPN etc...

xterramatt
Sep 05 2006, 12:21 PM
yeah, saw that.

musta been an easy course though... look at scores for everybody... -24 for advanced? but only -34 for pro? that's a lot of easy holes, but not a lot of score divergence. Chuck? :)

ck34
Sep 05 2006, 12:31 PM
That's the problem with low SSA courses - each shot is worth more rating points to get any separation. A couple flukey shots and your rating can swing 25-30 points.

xterramatt
Sep 05 2006, 12:42 PM

Scores are that close or closer at Horizons Park in Winston-Salem aren't they?

TravisGrindle12
Sep 05 2006, 10:34 PM
Chuck that course could be as easy Horizons. Is it as old?

I will never ever say that Horizons is a "Hard" Course but considering its age and place in history I hope it never changes. I wish that The guys in winston would throw a x-tier where the players pack was a condor or something from the early 80's and the was the only disc you could throw.

Although I love a challenge I value our history.

ck34
Sep 06 2006, 12:47 AM
Horizons is a fun historical course and great for beginners. If historical discs were used on it, it would be good for pros, too. That's what we do with short Moir Park, our 1980 course with metal cone baskets - have an event with light plastic only.
