How about this? The day after another hugely successful Iowa tournament, the Des Moines Challenge NT, Oakland Mills Park, near Mt. Pleasant, was entered into the PDGA directory as the 100th disc golf course in Iowa.

Only 22. We're closing in.
We've got the whole western side of the state that is virtually unpopulated with courses. It's slowly spreading west from the Des Moines area. I'm getting calls and emails from lots of small towns that want to get a course.
Nice... I'd like to see an Iowa vs. Texas rumble... :)
I've been trying to get a course put into my apartment complex, but they're not going for it... I was thinking of getting 18 of those mini skill-shot baskets and finding people to "sponsor" holes by putting them on their porch... then there would be just one teepad from the BBQ area to all the different ones... what do you think? Besides the logistics of the second floor baskets I think it's a sound idea :)

There is an apartment complex in Euless, Tx that has a 100 yard driving range for traditional golf. Smack dab in the middle of the BALL DRIVING RANGE is a disc golf skill shot basket. Pretty cool, except for the location if golfers were hitting balls!

Texas = huge state
Iowa = medium size state
I thinks it awesome that Iowa has over 100 courses now, its the most courses per sq. mile of any state (I'm pretty sure it is anyway). I hear of new courses going up all the time now. I can't wait to get out and try em!

Actually that would go to my beautiful Delaware. With 8 courses on less than 2500 square miles of land. :D
Iowa wins per person though still beating out South Dakota. So congradulations on that I guess. :p

Yes, Props to Iowa!!! Texas is a huge state. We should have more courses, but who wants to play in the West Texas desert? :D

Congrats to Iowa! Anytime anybody wants to add to the number of good disc golf courses and add to the visability and possibility of disc golf in their area, it is a great thing. :)
Oh, and Bobby, that is the reason my parents gave for not driving to Lubbock for my wedding. :confused: I showed them all the great pictures we got from Mackenzie Park and proved it is not a desert.

'Sup LauraQ and Mr. Hero, Mac is truely a beautiful course. Kinda like an oasis in that desert of West Texas. Even turned out to make a beautiful place for a wedding, too. Look forward to seeing the both of you at a tournament coming to a course near you....
