Well. . . .

2005 - Kansas City Wide Open - National Tour - 20+ 1000 rated players

4th place - Kevin Babbit $925.00

8th place - Kevin McCoy $425.00

Now I know Kevin you might have some excuse like you plastered in the KC Wide Open section but real pros own up to their level of play. Admit it . . . You got beat fair and square by a Kansas wheat farmer. Next chapter. . Des Moines.

Props to Babbit, and all the KS & OK DG'ers. The rest of the US had better look out as there are more & more Kansas & Oklahome DG'ers improving their game. We need Dodge City (windiest city in the US) to host World's and see how the Florida & California players handle it......
Friz is only 16 weeks away.....

Jun 14 2005, 07:02 PM
I did not start this thread in order to claim I am a better player than Kevin McCoy action doll. I may be a Kansas Wheat Farmer (or at least the attorney who represents them), but I am not that stupid. You can forget the play for paychecks thing.

I do feel, however, that it is important to point out when retarded boasts are made and and the boaster fails to back it up at the first opportunity.

I am in a no lose situation. If I lose to Kevin McCoy action doll in Des Moines, then go figure it is because my player rating is 20 points lower. If I win, then once again Kevin McCoy action doll gets bent over and used. :D

I hate excuses, I hate to even try and pawn one off. But getting stabbed in the brain with a stick through your eyeball is a well below average feeling. Trying to play good golf when your eyeball is throbbing is kind of distracting. Let alone the thoughts of, am I going to go blind. The force of my eyeball broke a inch stick off a tree. I only shot 34 for 8 holes during this stretch of wondering if my eye was going to suffer significant damage.

So if you guys feel good bashing me for my performance this weekend have fun. Kickin a guy when hes injured is sooooo cool. As I'm sitting here today typing this I get to feel a throbbing eyeball, its oh so pleasant :(

And no, I don't believe in kicking a man while he is down. I hope your eye heals, and god forbid I hope it doesn't effect your vision. Heal quick and soon, and thats not sarcastic, just from one human to another

Kevin - that sucks about the stick to the eye. I had a similar scare back in March after jamming a stick into my eye on the first hole of a casual round (finished the round, though!).

I was told by my doctor that the eye is one of the fastest healing parts of the body. I only scratched my cornea and it healed in 3-5 days.

Good luck and hope your eye heals quickly.

Stick in the eye or not, I'm still sad my consective cashing streak ended at 52 weeks. kev, sorry to hear about the eye. dont worry too much.. as noted above, the eye is one of the fastest healing organs in the body. last year i was running into the shule to take a quick leak and i ran smack into a small twig/brnach. poke me solid in the eye. i couldnt see real well the rest of the round. the whole white was a very brilliant red for about a week. then one morning when i got up it was barely discolored at all and the next day completely healed. i'm betting/hoping yours will heal just as well.

Kev my dumb Arse was cutting metal with a dremmel last year without eye protection, and I got a lot of little pieces of metal stuck in my eye, I went to the eye doctor the next day and he had to pull all the metal out( about 30 pieces). It had already started to rust. It took a week for my eye to heal and not feel like something was stuck in it. To this day i see spots when I look at a white wall where the metal was. You should be fine in a week.

http://www.columbusdiscgolf.com/images/offtopic.gif We are starting a massive cutting of fairways this week. We just got permission to do so. We have 4 kids the park officals caught doing doughnuts on the course in the winter. They were sentenced to 40hrs of community service each. Paul Jay gets them and has to sign off on their time. So they will be slinging mulch and other things the next few weeks. The course will be in much better shape this year. Great stuff!

I like it! :DI can handle it too ;)

For about 8 holes I was really considering mailing it in cuz its easy to play the "ole pitty me" role after the old fashion eye surgery. I was +13 it would have been easy to roll over. Coming up to hole 1 at Ewing I had to shake myself and realize I wasn't going to quit and build a bridge and get over it....BIRDIE, BIRDIE, BIRDIE, BIRDIE on my way to a 23 on the front. Still the damage was done. Not the kind of courses you can plan on making 12 strokes up. It was just exciting to have a chance to cash come that 4th round.

Kev that was a he11 of a performance on the front nine. I almost forgot you stuck yer eye on hole 15. I was about a foot away and saw it stick ya. way to recover and not give up....I thought about quitting 2 or 10 times this weekend, but I'm not a quitter. After seeing that, I don't think i'll even entertain thought. My cashing streak was broken in KC. I cashed in everything since I started cashing last may. I've realized the competition level at NT's won't allow for those who don't practice. simply playing 1000 rated rounds won't even get you decent money. I'm rambling now, later.
