Just purchased 171g Sidewinder earlier today.
Any opinions and critiques ??
Will it turn more than a Leopard when beaten up ???
How about using it as a regular driver off the tee ??
Heard its a good roller ?
The Sidewinder has been my Main driver off the tee for about 3 months now. For me it has a very realiable HUGE "S" turn in the air. I am throwing mine around 420-440 ft.
If I take a little bit of power off it, the flight pattern is straight as an arrow. Up until this week it was my best driver. Althrough I picked up a Pro Starfire and it may take the main slot for my Tee Driver.
All in all probably my favorite disc in my bag though. It really just depends on your style of throwing. If you have the form and arm to turn over disc like Orc's and Firebirds then this isn't probably the disc for you though.

I have a 171 as well.
Don't need to beat it up. It will turn over hard right out of the box.
It is a good driver off the tee. Put some hyzer on it and it will do a nice helix. Put a lot of hyzer on it and it will flatten out and fade at the end.
It makes a good roller too. You can get pretty good D out of it. I have found that I do need to stand it up a little faster than a beat in roller, but that is to be expected.
Hope this helps.

Good info so far I just need to chime in too as it is my favorite driver. It is harder to control than a leopard but is much longer. When thrown really well on a long hole it will S for you!!!!! As noted you need to start it with a little hyzer and wow it really turns over just like the big boys can do. It comes out of it though and finishes more stable than a leopard. If you decide you want to make it go right it is tricky, give it some anhyzer and it will dive into the ground quick.

I don't know how they fly but its the best roller I have ever had, by far. You put it on the right line and it will hold it forever.

I havent really used the sidewinder for rolling yet, but i use if for tunnel shots, straight shots, and some slight flex shots. You can hold it on a line up to 350' and flex it over 400'.

How much height are you giving it to flex??? because the one I threw even with HYZER didnt want to flex back.

Actually i guess i dont really "flex" it, more of a hyzer-flip-flex. The disc rises up after it flips flat. I use a first run star stamped max weight one.

So just rip a hyzer out to the left let it flip flat and glide right then fade back at the end???

Yeah when i throw it really hard and snap it, i release it at about 7-8 o' clock, it has hyzer on it for about 150' then flips flat, rises, and flexes out right for another 150-200', then flattens out and comes back. When i dont try to throw it too hard, its just like a fast flying Roc, and dead straight. Great for uphill, straight tunnel shots as well.

A 150 Gram Champion Beast does the same exact thing, but more unpredictable.
I have found that my max weight one will flex out (as long as you don't rip the snot out of it) when thrown with a touch hyzer and my mid 160's one thrown the same way will turn over right and not come back. It's definately a finesse disc and won't tolerate bad form as much as most other drivers, but you get more distance out of it than most other drivers for the same rip (yes, even pro starfires), IMO. If they aren't flying right for you, try easing off the power and see how they do.
