I am visiting a friend who lives in Atlanta. Can anybody recommend some good courses in this area? I have not played any courses in Georgia, so any feedback would be helpful. Thanks.

If you can make it over to Lake Russell S.P. in Elberton (on the border of SC) that's gotta be the best in GA. It's one of my favorites of 140+ played. I ranked at 4th best. Redan is the best in Atlanta, but Lake Russell is far nicer.

I agree that these are the ones to play in the Atlanta area.

Keep in mind that Atlanta sprawls over a huge area, so your choice may be affected by what part of Atlanta you're starting from. Redan and Merriweather must be an hour apart, on opposite sides of the city.

Rose Lane in Toccoa is about 2 hours north of Atanta, but it is worth the drive.
