I have a question about Touring Pros.

I was reading an article about sponsorship in the Magazine I get for being in the PDGA, and I was reading the Gateway Sponsorship program.

It said that Gateway sponsors 4 "Touring Pros" who get amazing stuff for being sponsored such as unlimited Discs, bags, clothes, tournament entries, plane tickets, rental cars, hotels, food, and vacations.

I thought this was crazy for Disc Gol because I never knew that this level of sponsorship existed.

Ok my question is: By saying "Touring Pro", does that mean they just travel to all the big tournaments or does it mean that it is their full time job and all they do is Disc Golf?

They travel as much as possible. Most of them work for Dave at the factory during the winter months.

Most of the "Touring Pros" play EVERY nationals tour event on the schedule and then hit smaller tournaments on the way to the bigger ones if there is a break in the National tour schedule.

The National tour is makin it way toward MI as we speak. KC Wide Open. Next week is Des Moines Challenge Then Discraft Great Lakes Open the following weekend then Michiana Super Tour the next weekend then Brent Hambrick in Columbus Ohio the weekend after that.

If you check the results from some NTs and click on some nakes youll be able to tell whos a "Touring Pro" by how many tournaments they have already played this year :D

There used to be pro's who did nothing but play disc golf... traveling from event to event. They lived on the road for weeks... months... years.

Check them out here...
