I never hear anyone talk about the Spyder. Is this just a disc that not many people use? I have one and never use it but I am not sure why. I just can't seem to throw it the way I want to. But it feels great in my hand. Whats others experiences with this disc.
Love it, the original CE Spider is my favorite upshot disc from within 250 feet or so.

I stock them and sell them. They don't move as fast as Rocs or Buzzzes.
There are a lot of perfectly good discs that just don't catch on. The Reaper, for example.
Hint to Innova: Don't name your next driver for a team that is hated all over the midwest except in their home state. That concept is not selling Vikings!

Can't "bear" to be without my "Viking" so it's always "packed" in the bag. Not "lion."
My main midrange is an old Pro Line Spider. It's definitely slower than a Roc or Buzzz. I even started Team Spider just to mess with Girlie.
I like the Viking also but I was an Oiler fan so what does it matter now? Do Cowboy and Redskin fans throw Eagles?

If the make a disc called the Patriot, I would definitley buy it. It really doesn't take much for me to buy a new disc anyway...
Martin T had Barry Schultz sign a Purple Viking at the 2003 Texas 10 Final. :D

I've thrown a spider since I've started playing (about 3 years). The lip to it fits nicely in the hand and for whatever reason, I've always had great control of this disc. The old CE spiders seemed to hold up a lot better than the old pro line or the new champion ones. What turned me on to it starting was the fact that it felt comfortable as a putter too.

I think Spider and Sharks are some of Innova's best mids...yeah Rocs are good too, but the others are SO underrated.
I have a love-hate relationship with my shark. I'm not sure if it's because of the deeper lip, but I seem to let go of it too late about 40% of the time... the other 60% it's perfect, but the 40% seems to happen in tournaments, 60% during practice... :p I want to like the shark... I really do... but it's hard sometimes...

See thats excactly what happens with me and the spyder. I seem to mess the release up everytime I throw it for some reason. i am not sure why either. I want to LOVE it so much but I just can't.

You guys may want to check out a self-help group for that stuff! :D No, actually I know what you mean - I've had a few discs over time that I thought felt so good in my hand and sometimes I get that great throw off with it, but then next time I'd get that "where in the hell am I throwing" shot and I'd keep trying with it until that "where in the hell am I throwing" shot went straight to "lost". Even the rough parts of disc golf are fun!!
I had a similar problem with my Rocs and Aviars (when using them for short drives). They would go all over the place. Opon suggestion, when I drive a mid or putter now I use a fork grip instead of the power grip. With fewer contact points on the rim my errant shot count went way down. Also is keeping me from tearing up the 2nd knuckle on my middle finger. I now love my rocs and aviars again :D Try either the fork or maybe even a two finger grip and see if that helps you as well. Thanks to BlakeT for the suggestions. www.discgolfreview.com (http://www.discgolfreview.com)
