What a sad day in the disc golf family.
Gordon was not only a great person to be around, he was also a very talented disc golfer. I had to good fortune to play with Gordon on numerous occasions, I first met him through Brent Hambrick. My prayers go out to Gordon's family.

Gordon was one of the nicest people I've ever met through DG. Always had a kind word to say, always willing to help out, fun guy to play a round with in a tournament or casual. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
I met Gordon, he was in my group in a tournament about 2 years ago in Rochester Flying Disc Open. He won the tournament by a few strokes over Joe Klosky and Doug Corea. He was a super good player.

He was very helpful with pointers on my throwing technique and on my game. I don't understand how he could pass away, he was a young guy and healthy. It makes no sense.

Gordon was a great guy - I'll miss you Gordon, as will many others. We love you.
OH MY GOD! WOW!
I knew Brent a little but I feel like I knew Gordo alot more, I can't believe this. Gordon was a big supporter of the Can-Am series. They should make a trophy that rotates from winner to winner each year, and they should call it the Holton Cup. 2003 Can-Am CHAMP! GORDON HOLTON WILL BE MISSED! :( :( :(

I like that idea Kevin. I've passed it on to the Can-Am director, and a bunch of other Can Am players.
We definitely will be thinking of him at the Can Am tournaments this weekend.

At the Can Am tournament today we were all thinking of Gordy. In honor of him I did a few left foot forward putts( with that push-putt style), and made 3 out of 4!
I was sad to hear of Gordon's untimely passing. Gordon had installed the little course in Delaware, Ohio, where I first learned to play four years ago or so. I was so thrilled that Gordon would take the time to play rounds with us old beginners. At the time we met, I was serving as a bishop in Delaware; when Gordon heard of that, he always made it a point to curb his sometimes colorful language when we were around. He told me that he did not have much interest in church, but that he respected those who did, and we had no problem relating to each other out on the course.
He was so friendly, so willing to share his knowledge, and such an enthusiastic ambassador of the game. I recall one time when I threw a Z-XS as hard as I could possibly throw and it wound up leaning up against the pole on the last hole (about 260 ft or so.) Gordon got all excited, gave me a big high five, and really whooped it up. A few weeks later, he aced the same hole and it was my turn to whoop it up in his honor.
At any rate, Gordon was a great guy, and I am so sad that he is gone. I stopped by the course in Delaware yesterday and said a prayer for the soul of a dear friend. I did not know him long, or really well, but I knew him well enough and long enough to love him. Should plans be made for some sort of memorial for him, please post them.
RIP, Gordon.

Won several B tiers over the last few years. upper 980's rating. Very good putter. Best putter I've ever seen with a left-foot forward style.

Wow, very sad news.
I was lucky enough to have played many rounds with Gord at various Can-Am events over the years. A great ambassador to the sport and true friend to his fellow players.
Kevin's suggestion for an annual award gets my support. Both Gord and Brent must stay in our hearts as we carry on while we still can.

Things Gordon taught me:
1. Never tell somebody how well they are doing if they are having a hot round, it might jinx them.
2. That I am doing pretty well for my age.
3. Some other things I forgot
