Well, the ratings are up, let the problems flood in.

The No Foolin' #16 tournament ratings on April 3rd aren't correct. The Open, Masters, and Women all played oppiset courses as the rest of the field. Just by looking at the ratings you can tell they were all calculated as the same course.

Now your rating will drop. Should've sent a PM or email :o

Yea, I believe with the correct numbers my rating should drop to around 877, but oh well, at least it will be accurate.
The 2 Northern Waters Series have results, but no ratings.

The Ganus Cup Challenge was not rated.
These were 12 hole rounds (which I understand is the fewest you can have and still be rated) and there were enough propogators.

I thought that it had to be 14 holes to be rated?

maybe you're right.....maybe that's why they aren't....
Chuck / Theo / DGRZ clarify?

Courses must have 14 holes to get ratings. It's in this document available in the ratings section on this site.
www.pdga.com/competition/ratings/USGAVSPR.pdf (http://www.pdga.com/competition/ratings/USGAVSPR.pdf)
Some TDs who knew this have combined scores from 12-hole rounds into 24-hole rounds on their event report to get ratings.
A couple of problems I noticed. Lions Den Open is showing up on my profile and was played at the beginning of April but no round ratings. TRO was played 2 weeks after Lions Den Open and that tournament IS showing. What gives?
Also before this rating period I was rated 783 (Yes I am a brand new player) I had a 690 round that was not dropped from my included ratings. That is a 93 point difference, I thought the cut-off was 80?

ah, thanks Chuck
One more interesting potential problem.
Tower Ridge Open - On Saturday the Intermediate players played the same layout for round 2 that the pro's & advanced played for round 1 on Sunday. The intermediate players apparently managed to tear the course up setting a Round 2 SSA of 47.94 while the Pro's and Advanced playing the same layout managed a 51.62 SSA, a 3.68 stroke difference. Highly unlikely this is correct, and if it is the Pro's need to be ashamed ;)
Previous to this Ratings release I had the Intermediate Round 2 SSA calculated at 50.68 which would hold more water. Please take a closer look at this one. Thanks!

The event date isn't what counts, it's when the report is received at PDGA HQ.

At least one, probably both, of the Northern Waters results were submitted too late to be included.
I understand this Chuck but it does seem a little ridiculous that a tournament played on April 9 would not make the Ratings update.
So talk to the TD who is responsible for turning in the results. Unless that was Chuck, I'd say this is not the correct forum to complain in.

We have TDs who have taken over 6 months to turn in results and money. Depending on the circumstances, they are prevented from being a TD the following year. However, a C-tier event report is not considered tardy until 30 days. So, an April 9th event wouldn't necessarily be late when May 3rd was the cutoff to be in this ratings update.
Thank you 4 posting the ratings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whom ever is envolved!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Dang NWS-I swear if it weren't for the player's pack jerky I wouldn't attend :)
It was a B tier event, curiously how long is the deadline for those?

I did that three times for one event and it has never been fixed...

And if the TD has never sent in the data for the event, or the data is somehow flawed and doesn't meet ratings criteria, it will still not be fixed. Maybe you should contact the TD and start there.

I am a member, #25333. I just want to know how long a TD has to report a B tier event. Chuck stated 30 days for a C tier event, so I wanted to know how long for a B tier.

Sanctioning agreements are available to everyone online. Check it out.
Found it, 30 days for B, C & D tier events. A simple answer would have been nicer but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
What penalty, if any, is served for late reportings then? This effects us as players when an event is not reported timely, especially when the 30 day deadline falls close to ratings time as this one did. I realize that TD's have a lot to do, but unless such sanctioning agreements are enforced it is useless to implement them.

Yes and if it is reported repeatedly that a tournaments ratings are incorrect they should not count in the ratings system right.
Hey ratings crew - - this event is wrong for xyz reason, these ratings should not count if the TD can not get you the proper box configuration. Yet they remain counting for a year now hurting the top players ratings and raising the lower players ratings. I also did not hear a response from the committee either.
But go a head and send the things that are incorrect in using that link. It is sure to work this time.

I would have given it if I knew it. I'd have to find it like you did.
Contact PDGA HQ for what their policies are on disciplining TDs on late reports.
Don't you agree though Chuck? There are a LOT of complaints flying around here about how Ratings are done, late, how often, etc. But if we put the honus on TD's to A) Submit electronically and B) Submit timely, then it would make the PDGA's life easier and things could get done on time.
It's the domino effect and where do scores for ratings originate from?
ck34

TD's to A) Submit electronically and B) Submit timely,
Actually, they've been doing a pretty good job on this over the past several years. When we first started ratings, most reports were done manually. The $25 incentive to do it in Excel helped spur the conversion. I don't think 30 days is unreasonable. TDs can submit the results and send payemnt separately so the scores can be processed faster, but some wait until both are ready.
It's unfortunate the Lions event wasn't received in time because several regional players were trying to get enough rounds in their rating to play the Mid-Nationals. The Blueberry, Wakanda and Tower Ridge TDs knew this and made sure their reports were submitted in time for the ratings update.
The item on your list that we can't control is: C) Correctly. The report is about as simple as we can make it, but getting the course configurations matched up with the divisions who played them can be challenging in multi-course events with many people. And sometimes the juniors, geezers and/or Am Women make up their own shorter layout different from everyone else without telling the TDs.

Man, I wish you hadn't typed that Chuck! I don't need to be thinking of that when I'm doing my next TD report!!! :p

Jon busted his butt to get in his TD report before the May update deadline. It is hard if you work a full time job, have kids in school and it is this time of the year to get anything else done sometimes.
For IOS #2 we are talking about uploading scores to pdga.com round by round like an NT or Major.

We had to leave before the awards ceremony, yet the scores were online when I got home after a two hour drive. Great job, Discontinuum! Thanks for a great tournament!

I don't know why more TDs don't do this. I'm looking at a bunch of Michigan tournaments to see how people I know played and two or three weeks later still no scores. But at least now you have a reason for driving two hours to one of our tournaments! :)

By the way, Goby, you are eligible to play Saturday at IOS #2 [in Men's Intermediate] and have a shot at the $500 roll over ace pool.
