From Tim Selinske:
Through the generous and selfless support of many members of the disc golf
family, I am going to have the pleasure of delivering an envelope containing
just over $2200 to the family of Larry Bell. For those of you who have not
had the pleasure of meeting Larry, he has been playing disc golf since the
70's, he is a founding board member of So Cal Disc Golf and he loves disc
golf and disc golfers. Larry is continuing his battle with cancer of the
tongue and jaw. In talking with his daughter Hillary, she says that Larry
feels he is improving as he starts to recover from six weeks of radiation
and chemotherapy. I continue to send my thoughts and prayers to Larry and I
hope you will too. I am sure that we are having a positive impact on
Larry's recovery. With the support of the disc golf community as well as
his family and friends, I am hopeful and optimistic that Larry will beat
this dreadful condition and be out on the disc golf course soon.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to
the money that was raised to help Larry and his family during this extremely
difficult period. I would also like to thank the many people who donated
items to the raffle we held to encourage folks to donate to the cause. When
we started this effort, I hoped to raise between $500 and a $1000, but
thanks to everyone's generosity we gathered over $2200. I know this will
mean a lot to Larry and his family. Again, for those of you who were kind
enough to contribute to this cause, please accept my heartfelt and sincere
THANK YOU! For helping a fellow disc golfer in need.
With gratitude and hope in my heart,
Tim Selinske
