I know that lighter fluid will remove sticker or tape glue from glass, but will it also work on disc plastic? If so, will it damage the plastic? Any tried and true methods out there?

Try plain ol' PEANUT BUTTER. Seriously. ;)

I recall using that 'zippo' fluid as a solvent, for something. I remember as a kid [younger kid] making trails on my arm and igniting it, too, so don't do it just to be a copycat...do you need to save the hotstamp? It's likely to get damaged by that volatile stuff, should any slop. :(

...some of the NEWEST Beasts, discs in the PP' at Golden State, had stickers inside the rim. Is that a trend? This may be a serious issue, now.

The gunk is actualy on the bottom of the disc, about a 1.25 x .75 inch rectangle, towards the rim, so I don't think the hotstamp is any immediate danger. Usually if I remove the sticker right away it's no problem, but if I forget and play the disc before removing the sticker, it'll get wet and become a biotch to remove.

And I'm out of peanut butter!!! A single man without peanut butter is like...bad.

I get mine off with some dishwashing soap and water.

The rubbing alcohol is the most practical suggestion. Heck if you don't have peanut butter, you sure won't have fingernail polish remover. However if you did, that would work great. It has a bit more Umph than rubbing alcohol when it comes to sticky stuff removal.

Rubbing alcohol did the trick. I tried the dish soap first thing, but this was a particularly nasty residual glue situation. All good now.

And Anita, would you believe I was fresh out of nail polish remover?

there is a cleaner you can get at your local walmart called citrus silution or citrus cleaner depending on the brand. It is incredible for removing sticky residue and leaves no film afterwards.

Vegetable oil will work and it will not harm the plastic. I get sticker goo on my discs from doing sticker dyes. If it won't come off just rubbing the goo under running cold water I use vegetable oil.

I happened to have a disc laying around that I had been wanting to take off the sticker goo. Tried the peanut butter thing, works great. I first tried just rubbing it on with my finger and that didn't appear to be working, when I went to a towel and buffed it a bit the sticky came right off. Little soap and water removed any residual "butter" residue. Thanks for this tip :)

I have used the grinder in my workshop.... :D

Why do manufactures add that extra weight????

I suggest they get rid of the stickers completely.
