Does anyone use a Dragon for rollers, I've tried using it before becase it flips a lot. When I use it, it rolls better than any other disc. I want to see if anyone else agrees with me.

I use a beat up 171 DX Gazelle for rollers in the 350+ range..
haven't tried a dragon... will have to some time though.

Try a new sidewinder. I used to use t-birds and SE Valks until the sidwinder came along. Now I have the same control but can get another 100-150ft extra with the side winder. I can only throw, in the air around 350-400, but with this disc I can roll way farther than I can throw. I have gotten birdies that used to be gotten only in my dreams.

It takes a little while to find the right angle to stand them up on but when you hit it they will hold the line forever with out turning over.

Yeah the Sidewinder is like the perfectly tuned Leopard roller that goes about 100ft farther. I have a sidewinder in my 1st reserve spare box incase I lose my Leopard. I only use a roller on low celing tight shots not for distance, I don't need to.

But the Sidewinder will fly FAR if thrown right! When they first came out, GrandMaster bagger Tom Monroe threw one and hit a tree about 8ft in the air at 420ft out! It was insane, especially considering that old man can still throw that far.

What do you think makes your Leopard go that much further than your Sidewinder?

But no other disc out-of-the-box is even close to the Sidewinder for rollers.

One of my numerous goals for this year to is get a dependable backhand roller. I've been throwing beat-in beasts, vikings, and valks with moderate sucess. And the sidewinder with respectable D.

No no no, I am sorry. I did not mean to make any conclusion that the Leopard was a longer roller for me then the Sidewinder, quite the opposite.

What I meant to say, without sounding pompous was. My air shots are much longer and more accurate then my rollers. My roller only goes 350 at best and the accuracy is pure luck. But I can throw an air shot 450ft, as accurate as a first year advanced player can throw. Usually within a long lateral putt to the basket (50-60ft).

I only throw rollers on low ceiling tight shots that I do not need distance. I apologize for the confusion.

i find the pro orc is a super-easy disc to turn over and roll. i just put a lot of snap on it and the thing flips right over on me.

the fact that it's good for rollers is the only reason i havent taken it out of my bag yet... i just havent had good luck finding the "sweet spot" for air shots but it'll stand and go when i roll it.

I used to roll the most beat up disc in my bag until the Sidewinder came out....Sidewinders will flip nicely when they are brand new, be sure to put enough torque into the shot so the disc will stand up straight. Works well for sky rollers and low ceiling rollers as well.

Someone told me about this thread, because, well... I roll a Dragon quite a bit!

I find the dragon to be an amazing roller, which I discovered by accident one day. I can basicly throw this disc flat, and it's so understable that it will flip almost instantly, and then lands on it's edge and rolls, rolls, rolls... I find it very predictable, I know exactly how to roll it, it's just a matter of following through with a decent throw.

I just purchased a back-up at a tourney yesterday, because I know at some point it's gonna float away on me. If you are looking for a replacement make sure it's a first run, hard and waxy. The subsequent runs, are a softer more pro-line like plastic and don't work the same.

I recently picked up a sidewinder for rolling, but haven't had much luck with it so far. It's all dragon for me!

People still throw the Xpress? I am a Discraft guy (>50% in my bag) and I don't throw those. A beat up Z-XL does the job better. Plus the rounded nose doesn't feel good in my hand.
