Greetings,

The organizing committee of the Southern Nationals AM Championships are sending a request to leaders in the DG Community asking individuals, clubs and businesses to consider supporting one of the largest AM Disc Golf Events in the South.

This prestigious annual event will expose your business, club or event to AM disc golfers from across the Southern United States-- by participating as a sponsor of any level, or buy placing advertisement in the event guide.

The sponsor contact volunteers are listed below in this thread as well as URL's to event specifics.

I urge you to help us assist Jim Orum (SN Founder) in making this the "biggest and best" SN AM Finals-- ever!
(at the end of this thread, there are stats from past AM Final events)

The growth of the SN is phenom!
(McDonalds is the Title Sponsor for the 2005 SN PRO FINALS
having donated $4000.00 to that event)

Please consider advertising in our event guide, perhaps
an Event Guide Ad featuring your business, club? ... or course?

Thanks for whatever you folks can do to assist.

Wow, does this mean that the SN Am Championship will actually be a PDGA event this year? That would be great!
I mean since it is on the PDGA tournament threads you are going to make it PDGA sanctioned right?

Thanks for your input.

This event is not a PDGA event. The % of attendees that are PDGA members that are participating (dgers who have qualified) does not justify the PDGA sanctioning expense.

We will be handing out PDGA membership forms at the event in an effort to help expose many golfers to the PDGA.

In the future perhaps the SN AM Championships will become a PDGA event. Not in the past-- nor this year, though.

The SN PRO Championships has been a PDGA event in the past. I may be mistaken, but I believe it has.

The organizing committee of the SN AM Championships are reaching out to leaders in the DG community asking for teamwork. This forum is a great place to reach out.

There are MANY PDGA members who have qualified for both SN PRO and AM Championships. If you take the time to look at the # of PDGA players participating in SN events, perhaps it will make you realize the need to reach out to them. Take a look at the OPEN division stats: ttp://sndg.org/stats/players.php (http://sndg.org/stats/players.php)

The intent in posting this thread was to disseminate information to them and any other "team oriented" disc golfer that might be interested in helping.

It is the AM Championships. We want to expose them to all things disc golf-- which is why we will be handing out PDGA information to anyone wanting it.

That's a bummer, I was just hoping it would have been so the rounds could have been rated, I am trying to get my rating up to a respectable level. But in the last year, I am happy to see more cooperation and co-sanctioning between the PDGA and the SN, that is a good good thing.

Nevertheless I will be attending, I did well in Intermediate last year in Memphis, and hope to do better this year in Advanced. Look forward to playing Louisiana courses for the first time that weekend. I will be bringing a well known advanced player from Michigan with me to the event, he is looking forward to competing for his second time in the south.

It is great to hear you will be attending. Good luck at the event!

If you want an online view of the courses, or information about the Host Club, check this out: http://www.acadianadga.org/

Thanks again for your input.
