I heard rumors a few month ago that Innova was going to be producing a new disc golf computer game. Is this a substantiated rumor or not?
I really hope you are right! But I haven't heard of one.

What they need is a Ken Climo 2k5 and have it be EXACTLY like Tiger Woods 2k5 but have it be disc golf. Now THAT would be INSANE!!!!!!!!!!

There is already a game out there. I dont know if there is another one coming though.
Disc Nation has it on their site. Disc Golf Game (http://www.discnation.com/detail.asp?pid=127414)
I have also seen some from time to time on eBay
That WOULD be really cool to have a big software company invest in a kick a** game!!! Maybe someday......

I totally disagree.
The graphics of the Innova Disc Golf game were the best of any virtual disc golf game. The elevation changes, trees/forests, water hazards, and wildlife noises were stunning. There were doglegs and multi-shot holes and some of the courses, if existing in real life, would be the best in the world.
The flight patterns of the discs were scary accurate. The Banshee was overstable and didn't go as far, the Cheetah was a little flippy, making a beautiful S curve and going the farthest, with the Eagle in between. A Roc flew about 350 feet max on a tight line, and the Aero was your straight-line putter. I think the other disc choices included: Stingray (although not as a roller) Gazelle, Aviar, Rhyno, and maybe a Shark or XD.
This game could also be configured to be HARD. The Wooden Bridge course featured almost predominantly two-shot par four holes with tall trees preventing you from going up and over everything. If you played the Pro setting and didn't use mulligans, a score of 54 was REALLY tough to achieve on that course.
I'll admit that the "hokey" part of the game was that on some of the courses that featured more open shots, 600 foot holes were reachable. What was really silly was that you could throw that far both backhand or sidearm (!)
A final fun feature were the stock comments that would be triggered in the game. If you had a great drive that left you in putting range, a sarcastic voice was heard:
"Looks Like I have a shot at birdie!
And if you way overthrew the basket, that sarcastic tone would come at you with:
Nice one, Gorilla Boy!
It wasn't perfect, but it was still the best virtual disc golf game ever made.

I think it was the only disc golf game produced and sold. Just because there are not any other programs out doesn't make this a good game. If you put this game up against any other game of it's time IT SUCKS!!
Heh, that game was fun for a tiny bit. I played the demo version, and the discs didn't have names though... and the game did have high speed turn and low speed fade, but you couldn't do rollers, overhands, hyzer flips, bla bla bla. Good game compared to nothing, lacking compared to what it could be.

there were 2 disc golf computer games, the innova one and i believe there was one called "frisbee golf." the frisbee golf one had 4 discs.
the innova game was developed using sprites and the quake 2 engine in the same manner as a game like deer hunter. i was actually pretty impressed with the disc flight paths as i found them to be quite accurate, with the lone exception of the distances (a 600' cheetah throw in that game looked more like a 350' cheetah throw in real life). there are also 2 versions of the innova game, 1 of which allowed network support, the other one did not.
a few years back a few of us were actually looking to start an online league and a few nights we got 3-4 people playing online, but after a few people bought the game and ended up with no network support, interest waned a bit and it sorta stopped. i think part of it was that they capped text at 1 line which really threw off smack talk abilities.
the original innova game reminded me a lot of links 386 that i used to play circa 1991. it was relatively amusing, but hard to hold interest after repeated playing.

I was thinking the exact same thing just a couple days ago. The left toggle would control the coil/uncoil and be sensitive to angle variation so you could release hyzer to anhyzer. The right toggle would control the runup adding an element of timing/foot fault. That would be great. Give it a few years through huh?

Tiger Woods 2k5 type games have huge production budgets.
The Innova Disc Golf game, which was waaaaaaay better than the Wham-O Frisbee Golf game that came out a month or two sooner, sold so poorly that it was in the $5 bin at WalMart in less than a month's calendar time. That means that it basically sold zero units.
Don't look for anyone to invest a bunch of money in a Tiger Woods kind of polish disc golf game with that kind of history.

As if my wife did not think I was a big enough dork for traveling around the country just to throw a frisbee in a park. I cannot imagine what she would think walking into the den and seeing me at the computer playing a disc golf video game and then talking about it to other DG'ers on a forum.
I cannot wait until something new comes out! :D I will buy it.
